Oh yes. Hepetitis is sexy. So is a shrinking manhood, the inability to get hard, and extreme difficulty having an orgasm. And of course every woman finds a man with an increased temper and acne breakouts to be irresistable!

Sorry for the sarcasm. It's a terrible idea. No good can come from it. If you want to improve your health and physique - terrific. Do it the natural way. Work out harder and with impecable form, eat cleaner and get enough rest.

Going all natural will give you a self esteem boost too. The knowledge that you can set and accomplish your goals because you are dedicated, determined and strong willed will far surpass the 'success' you feel if you obtain it by cheating and robbing yourself of your future health.

Well, I must correct LC a little. All of those things may happen, depending on the amounts you use. Hepatitis only if you share needles or bottles. As for the manhood issues and ache only when used in large amounts for a long time. The rage thing is totally bogus. Every researcher agrees. What is most likely the cause of the rage is most(not all) do them for self esteem issues. And they “hear” that you get rage problems so, they allow them to happen.

As for doing them, I agree with LC why? Unless doing them will allow you to make large amounts of money, then why bother? Hit the gym hard and often and you will see your results. If it is a weight issue, then don’t. You retain water while on them, to become the cut specimens you see in the magazines you need to stop your cycle, and starve yourself for the week before the photo shoot.

The amount you do will determine your results. Lots and no breaks in your cycle then you get all the problems LC tells you. Small amounts and you become the next Ben Johnson. What he took in a year is what most the WWE folks do in a cycle.

Hope this helps, but like LC says work hard at the gym, and you will get results, with out potential problems.

Just my two cents and we all know what that will buy you…..

Like any other injectable drug, use a new (sterilized) needle every time and this won't be a problem

Interesting comments:

Your penis does not shrink or grow at any time during or after steroid use. With certain steroids your balls will tempoarily shrink.

Inability to get hard? the complete oposite is true. Think about it, this is testosterone in your system. You get hard when the wind blows and you can orgasm enough times to service a small harem.

increased temper and acne breakouts
This one is true, temper & acne can be a major problem.

Don't get me wrong, I think steroid use is NOT a good idea.

I just believe in making decisions using the truth and not "old wives tales"

There are several good sources on the internet to research the good, bad and ugly side effects of steroids.

Unfortunately PERB is not one of them.

Check out these links and read, read, read

Ahh yes, nuts the size of raisins, are SEXY!!!

Oh yeah, let's not forget the acne, thinning hair and the neck thicker, wider than your own head.

I've seen a lot of people start off at a decent pace but love the results and then overdo it. Hard to handle. And narcissistic.

service a harem? um, no, sorry: testosterone is the 'sex' drug but unfortunately, studies have shown that if you are having problems before taking it you will still have problems after ... the amount makes little or no difference.

the 'service a harem' stuff is anecdotal from steroid users ... the scientific research is from thousands of men and women who have been put on testosterone for a variety of problems and while there is an initial 'boost' it quickly declines back to 'normal'.

and you don't need to take it by injection anymore, you can use gel packs that you rub on your shoulder or butt and it is absorbed into the skin. it is much safer, effective but still has side effects.

have a talk with the family doctor about it ... typically there are other problems other than low testosterone that can affect all kinds of things.

They can skew the studies all they want.

The studies you quote are on people with a variety of problems and they still have problems.... go figure.

Steroids make your arms bigger..... I know, let do a study on people with no arms and see if it works.

I am not talking about studies or any else other than personal experiences over a 5 year period of my life.

And yes, I would stay hard for several hours, to the point of it being painful and wishing it would go away.

And yes, I would have 4 or 5 orgasms over that period of time.

Was this a study or research? no just my personal experience. YMMV (geez, that sound familiar)

20 years later, am I glad that I used steroids?

NO!

I have had surgery on both shoulders, my knees and hips are extremely painful and when I get out of bed in the morning it is hard to move as all of my joints are stiff which is related to over use of the joints.

They are not designed to lift that amount of weight.

I have the onset of arthritis which is also related to my steroid use.

In hind sight not a good decision.

Strangely enough it does make the clitoris grow in females who use/abuse steroids.

So Chynna probably wakes every morning like the majority of the pooners here, with a hard on

LOL

I think steroids are only good for 90 pound weaklings who would never ever be able to get big and bulky with working out alone.

I knew a guy who was scrawny and steroids did make him hot, but he did get a bit of a thick neck, and bad acne (which scarred).

A little steroid use over a short period of time to accomplish bulk might be Ok, but I wouldn't take chances with bad health down the road like Ddawg experienced unless it was absolutely necessary!!

Although it would be fun to look like China...GIVE ME THE MONEY AND GET IN THAT ROOM NOW!! Oh my it's amazing how a little power can go so wrong...

Take steroids

Steroids are good as a skin cream to fight eczema, there are some good uses for them. Put in on your skin, but do not put it through your liver.

Creatine is a much better alternative to roids.
The best thing is to eat enough protein if you are pumping iron.

Thanks for all the advice/opinions/info

Basically I'm a chubby male who'd like to lose 20lbs of fat but have no desire to gain size or strength. I'd like to have a surfer or gymnist build with abs of steel. Anyone know some really good supplements? Wolverine, would creatine help a guy who wants to cut up?

If you're trying to lose weight, the best way to do it is a combination of cardio, weight training and a clean diet.

Carido is necessarry for good health, but it will also burn of excess calories.

Muscle is very metabolically active. Each pound of muscle you have requires 35-50 calories a day to mantain. Each pound of fat you have only requires 2 calories a day to maintain. By putting on just 5 pounds of muscle (even if you changed nothing else), you would create a caloric deficit equivialnt to a loss of 2 pounds a month.

Creatine has it's benefits and downfalls. Typically men have better results with it, though it can be terrific for woman too. At a very basic level, what it is doing is hyper hydrating your muscles. Hydrated muscles are stronger and fatigue less easily. Therefore you should be able to train longer and lift heavier than if you were even marginally dehydrated. It's not the creatine that will change your body. You have to do the work. But the creatine will allow you to train at a level you may not otherwise be able to train at.

The typical side effect of it is cramping (most common in woman), and of course water retention. A good chunk of the water will be in the muscles, but some of it will be stored in your fat as well. Therefore, you can expect to look more bloated before you look leaner.

As with many suppliments, you need to cycle creatine, or it will be hard on your kidneys. And there is enough scientific information now to conclude that you really don't need the loading phase. The benefits of loading are marginal at best.

Grape juice is the best mix for creatine, as it will facilitate the absorption at an optimal rate. Make sure you drink it immediately though, as it begins to break down as soon as it is mixed with liquid.

Unfortunately, there are no quick fixes to getting in shape, or obtaining the body we want. You need to make it a lifestyle, and incorporate the changes into your daily life.

An optimal diet for health and physical fitness should be comprised of 5 or 6 small meals throghout the day. Focus on lean protein sources, unlimited vegetables, a couple of fresh fruits a day, non fat dairy, whole grains and essential fats. (you can suppliment with flax seed oil or udos oil).

Eliminate, or drastically reduce all saturated fats, sugars and processed foods and alcohol.

Remember, it took you a while to get out of shape, and getting back into shape won't happen overnight either. You need to commit to a healthier long term plan, and try to focus on the benefits you will achieve other than the asthetics. People who lose weight soly for appearances are the least likely to keep it off. Think of the energy you will have, the strength you will gain, your improved cardiovascular health, the reduced possiblity of diseases such as diabetes, cancer and heart problems and of course the self esteem you will generate in knowing that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

nope ... creatine helps the cells to retain fluids so you look more pumped but if you are still carrying fat you will just look fatter ...

if you want to get 'cut' then zero carbs ... body builders have been doing it way before atkins became popular ... but you can rebound when you do reintroduce carbs and end up even heavier ...

need to control calories and exercise and even then many people cannot achieve the 'cut' look you are after ...

i have seen lots of short chubby guys take roids and simply end up short chubby guys with big necks ...

Lady Companion knows his/her stuff, but I never knew creatine to work very well for women. Creatine hyper-hydrates muscle and not many women want to retain water, except maybe female bodybuilders.
Different people also have varying tolerances for it, I use and love it but a couple of my friends got really bad cramps and diarrhea even though they used it exactly the same way as me. Do not mix it with anything other than grape juice, anything acidic will break down the creatine, and you need something sugary to transport the molecule into the cell.
One of my friends was a skinny kind of guy and juiced to get big, after a while he started having the joint and tendon problems. That forced him to quit as he couldn't work out anymore, and then he shriveled up, he ended up being way skinnier than he was before he took them. There's a lesson for you.

Exactly. Creatine is a good way of getting over a plateau in your workout. But I wouldn't use it on a regular basis.

I agree with Lonely Ghost that carbs keep you from loosing weight, and need to be cut, but zero carbs is an exaggeration. The first time I tried zero carbs I felt unwell after only 2 days. Specifically my mouth and skin felt greasy, so I quit until I could read Atkins book. It recommended 20 carbs a day for the first 2 weeks, then adding in a few more depending how metabolically resistant you are (ie how many times you have dieted and ruined your metabolism in the past).

Two things I would say though is

#1 when you go back to carbs they are totally addictive, the sugar rush is akin to heroin (I'm guessing) and I did gain back 60% of what I origionally lost.

#2 The weight loss ONLY happens super fast the first time you do it (Atkins), after that your body has learned to hang on to it. That sucks! Especially since I thought I could gain the weight back and lose it just as easily! So make the most of the first time and don't let yourself become a carb addict again.

If you are in shape and work out daily and have no extra body fat then you must eat carbs for fuel!! That's why bodybuilders and trainers harp on carbs, it's needed to maintain muscles when there is no other fuel.
