is it b/c they are poor and come from poor families, want to earn money to pay for school-, what is the reasons
can't they get other type of jobs-

why donlt they get normal jobs like working at the bay, sears, or just get a normal job.

Many of us do have careers in addition to our professional companionship services ;)

Sure.... there are some that do it because they have no career options, and have not found their niche in life.. but there an awful lot of us out there that do it because:

A) We can. ;)
B) We enjoy it - the attention/compliments, the money, the wonderful (for the most part) gentlemen we meet :)
C) Freedom - not having to work full time, setting our own schedule
D) Some of us are single.. like to mingle.. have needs too, but do not want relationships at this point in our lives. :D

I myself have been in and out for years, and always come back to being a courtesan. I do consider Professional Companionship to be a career.. one I have come to love, and have really perfected my skills and level of service.
I also love my other career - and own a small business in that field.

There are some that have a need to please, and feel desirable.
Whatever the reason... many are able to get "regular" work, and have it - or choose not to.
I believe that far too many people spend their lives working. Full time work and over time are not for me. I prefer not to be exhausted at the end of the week from work.
Lazy I am not - but I am all for quality of life. Professional Companionship enables me to have that.

I am also enabled to further my small business, go on vacation abroad, eat all the expensive organic foods I want, take as many educational courses/workshops as I have time for.

I do, btw, come from a middle class family ;) Oh - and my parents are still married... a million years later (no broken home). I have never been sexually abused, nor had a drug problem. Oh - and my parents are still married... a million years later.
I am independant, and have never been coerced into this line of work.
Like many others here, I break the stereotypes that society has.

Yup, same sort of story here. I didn't start in this field until after I graduated from college. It was more out of curiosity than anything else. What drew me back and what keeps me here is partly because of the people; I absolutely love my regular clients! They treat me like gold and give me the attention I crave.

The other part is the freedom; I do not have to work very many hours to make a great living and therefore I have a freedom in my life that most people will never know.

I have always been a sexual person and this allows me to vent that part of myself while making a great living. I've got the education, I've had the 'normal' office job... and let me tell you, that shit is boring! I would much rather have the rush of the next encounter and the thrill of meeting someone new than spend 8 hours resisting the urge to slit my wrists open over my keyboard 5 days a week.

But that's just me... ;)

I can see why they might get mad, you're being awfully judgmental especially for someone who uses the services. Many can, (and do), get other jobs. Perhaps they don't get jobs at the Bay, Sears etc....because no one can survive on part time minimum wages which is what most retail is now. Maybe they do work part time in the mainstream world and this business as well. Maybe they want to be able to set their own schedule and have freedom. Maybe they get to be home more with their families\children because they set their own pace. much better to be at home as much as possible with your children so you can raise them properly and watch out for them instead of having them wander the streets while you are at your "normal jobs" at all hours. Who are you to define what normal is anyway? There are places in Europe where not only is this a "normal job", it's treated like one. (IE: benefits, medical, fair representation etc....). In North America we are so uptight and puritanical, that many of us automatically think this is a bad profession and that the girls are poor, uneducated, sad sacks of society etc..... because they can't see past the puritan values imposed upon us by our forefathers, a bunch of hypocritical white people who stole this land and imposed their own messed up beliefs and ideals on us. Besides, some people love to sit in moral judgment on others, it makes them feel better about themselves and their lives, and gives them feelings of being "better than others". So my question is, (since you seem to think we are all abnormal), why do you see girls in this business? Is it because you have lack of self esteem, low self confidence, were you abused by your mother? I mean, you're so much better than us, because you have a "normal" job, why would you need to come to the dark side? Surely, there's a pretty girl at your workplace who is "normal". (Besides, if they all got "normal jobs", who would be around to see guys like you)?

FWIW......I'm not saying that all men who see us have the above issues, I'm just putting his question back on him.

I've often asked myself the same question after seeing a beautiful, intelligent SP. After hearing Cara and Lilith's response, it makes perfect sense to me. I work out of town; I'm home 8 days a month tops, but at this point in my life (no wife or kids yet), it allows me to live the lifestyle that I want. Even though everybody doesn't understand why I do it, and I know it's not for everyone, it's a personal choice. I think I can speak for most of the guys out there when I say that I'm glad you ladies have chosen the career that you did. Cheers.

Yes you can speak for us! :)

Unlike some other losers who have no clue and would be surprised what we actually can all agree on. ;)
Some guys make fun of the girls and demean them to feel better about themselves. They are funny, but they should realize that people are only laughing at them.

Wow Vybe, are you ever ignorant. I think we've all been through how easy our job is NOT

Like any other job, there come risks. For a welder, the risks are loss of eyesight, and multiple burns on their skin. For a police officer, getting shot or stabbed by criminals or hit by a car while they pull someone over is a risk. For us, there are risks as well. Unfortunately, ours is very high risk, set parallel to police officers, taxi drivers, and other citizens who associate more with the general public than anyone else.

Being in the business, it's true, I've met girls who are drug addicts, or from low-income families, but I've also met extremely beautiful, intelligent women who would rock your arrogant, ignorant ass under the table in the smarts department. Classy Angel being one of them. She reeks of class and anyone who's ever met her would agree the same.

Everyone dreams of finding the perfect job. Some want to travel, they get a sales job with a worldwide firm. Some want to help people and make money, they become a doctor or specialist. Some want sex and money, they become an SP. Some want fame and money, they become an actress.

It's k, don't be jealous!

Almost every SP I have ever taken the time to get to know has been both beautiful and intelligent.
