Hi Folks,

Something is wrong with the Warm & Fuzzy thread and, being a computer dinosaur, I don't know the right words/terms to use.

It seems to be some kind of trojan, because when you click on the last page, a number of windows open and websites pop up.

I'm sad to see it go, but it was fun while it lasted. I've asked the Mods to go ahead and delete the thread. :(

Thank you all for your warm and fuzzy contributions.

I think that all that needs to be deleted is the last few posts. Even with my browser set to refuse new windows, my task bar filled in nano seconds.

The current last video tries to get you to download some kind of video player to see it (it was a repost in another format of another video that didn't show). My virus thingy must have stopped anything nasty (it always seems to).

Yeah, I commented on that first post by Miss Bijou, as we were being asked to sign up for a free account in order to watch the movie trailer. I guess you're saying that the follow-up post was the dirty one. I'd really prefer not to lose that thread, if at all possible (lots of good shit there). And I thought my Mac had good virus protection; sheesh was I wrong! :(

Fortunately, this isn't my computer and the owner hasn't given me an administrative account. The attempt to download and install a player got stopped immediately. It did manage to open a bunch of pop unders, but I killed them all before I ran spybot and then restarted the computer. People surfing on an administrative account probably get infected.

Spybot found and removed 3 things in addition to the MS stuff it always gets upset about.

:) nice to hear a Mac user admit that they were infected :) This computer has a lot of stuff running to protect it, stuff still gets through because it's really a war between the malware writers and the computer protection writers.

PS, the owner of this computer tells me that it has all of the various players installed and patched to be up-to-date, so there would be no need to install a player.

The Warm & Fuzzy thread still has its flu/cold/virus. No word yet but I'm waiting to hear from the Mods if they can just delete that last post, rather than the entire thread.

Please stay tuned...
