An interesting thread for this 85 year old. It is fairly obvious that generalizations on the aging process probably are not valid. I was about 80 by the time I noticed my minor shift in activity. I suspect that one of the reasons for the delay in slowing down was my partner of 40 years. Somehow or other she seemed to skip many of the problems that women have as they age, so I have had an enthusiastic partner for all this time - a very lucky guy, I know.

Not sure why but I just saw this thread and as a guy staring 70 in the face I'd like to throw in on the topic and I hope some of what I write here can help others of the more mature segment. Not preaching here, not bragging or coming across as anything but sincere but yeah maybe preaching a bit. Bottom line is your healthy body will increase or at least maintain your muscle mass, keep a decent amount of testosterone, give you confidence and THAT will keep you in the game. Fucking, blowing, eating, slip sliding you name it!! Just keep on doing it!
I have been an advocate for Men's Health for a long time. And that includes ALL health. Blew out my hip when I turned 55 and had to get a hip replacement and that really kick started me, call it MPH version 2.0. I figured this was not going to get me down and if anything now that I had a bionic hip, I had better take care of myself a lot better than I had been and with that hip fuck even better ... So with my health in mind, including sexual health, I started a regime that I still follow more or less today.
It included:
Weight control - intermittent fast (eat nothing after 9pm and nothing before 11am next morning).
Be in either a calorie deficit or a well defined caloric state. ~3500 calories is more or less one pound, take in 250 or so less calories a day and you will have dropped weight by the end of the month
Hydrate - at least a gallon of water a day. Start the day with 16-20 oz of water with lemon juice and bit of salt in it. Do this. You will thank me - honest!!
desired body weight (lbs) x 12 = calories for the day
body weight (lbs) x 0.6 = minimum protein in grams per day. This is critical. Your body will burn fat then before it starts eating muscles.
walk - be active - get as close to 10000 steps a day as you can but be active and move your body.
Work out strenuously at least 2 times a week, I'm currently in a 4-5 times a week 45 min to hour lifting and training under tension plan.
Add testosterone boosters to your daily intake. Ashwagandha and similar herbals promote testosterone.
Get a good night's sleep.
Look after your skin, learn about collagen, hyaluronic acid, retinol.
The result for me, is that I am in better shape than I was when I was in my 40's. My skin is healthy and yeah I look like an old guy but a fucking buff healthy old guy. If I have had a loss in sex drive, it's that I don't want to jerk off daily. My morning wood is full on blue veined, aching with "lets fuck like crazy". And maybe as important as anything when it comes to sex, I have confidence in what I am and what I can do. With over 50 years of pooning in my repertoire, I partake in every aspect of sensuality, love multi hour sessions that go from an hour of being on the edge to fuck like bunnies and make a mess of the bed action to giving my partner as many orgasms as she can ask for and a few she didn't ask for. Yeah I get it that some who have lost some of the above, don't want intercourse any more but for this old guy, it is still a mainstay in my life. And I put it all up to my health.
