I've sold a cellphone & computer monitor on craigslist. My ad says my price is firm and when they show up. They ask if it's ok if they are short 5.00 cause they dont have change(not just one person...but quite a few are short). Or they say oh youre phone is not unlocked so how about knocking off 20.00? Maybe the escorts deal with this more than most pooners on here. When i buy something or go see a sp ...i always carry exact amount.

yes. I have canuck season tickets and used to sell many games on craigslist.
Now i use only stubhub, just too many idiots on craigslist.

You post tickets for sale, and get all kinds of stupid emails.
Sob stories about how they cant afford to take their kids to the game. Expecting me to take a huge loss on tickets.
Plus deliver them!

Made a deal online to sell 4 in a row for a $120 each. Guy shows up with $100 total.....thinks I am going to sell canuck/flame tickets for $25 each. Oh and once a college kid, doesnt even bring money. Expects me to take his used textbooks as trade..WTF!!!

Today i had someone email me,text me four time for my computer monitor. Asking if i can take additional 33% off and cant take no for a answer. Some other person wanted me to go from downtown to richmond to deliver. Oh your comment about trade made me laugh. Cause i had some idiot who wanted me to trade my comp monitor for his android phone plus id have to add 100.00 for it. Im already taking 50% off my pricing but that's not good enough

I have sold some concert tickets via CL. Crazy how they will offer you half of face value and think that is ok. One chick ranted on me for about four emails after my refusal. She felt it was wrong on my part to even consider getting my investment back.

One guy I met a a Starbucks insisted on holding them as in a Dash was gonna happen. I held the tix with both hands and put them in his face. He walked without saying a word because it was clear he was a runner.

The worst was last playoffs where the canucks made it to the finals. I had a burrows jersey for sale for 125.00 brand new. Had this kid kept on emailing me asking if he can trade his video games. When i said no he started emailing asking if id accept a trade for designer jeans(that he probably stolen lol).

I found it best to ignore the idiots. As they get really pushy.
Also had an old loveseat i listed as free......guy wants me to drive it to coquitlam, so he can take a closer look.

What i actually would do with my tickets, if the person acted stupid when they came to get them.....is simply not sell.
$20 short? oh well, guess you wasted gas and time idiot.....oh suddenly find that extra $20 in your back pocket? too bad, not interested in selling to an asshole!

I can only imagine shit sps put up with

You people actually let these CL buyers in your home?

Beware!

Friend of mine attempted to sell stuff via CL from his home. Place was ripped off later that week. Coincidence? I think not.

Meet up at a coffee shop if possible never near your residence is all I can say about this one.

Meet them at the casino parking lot if possible, inside is best. Yes, its really ghetto sounding and it is. Thank God, I'm not a hoarder and got no junk really.

Better yet, tell them that you're desperate to sell and you'll knock another 30% off the price if they come right away.... and of course don't show up. They call you wondering where you are, and you say, "someone beat you to it". That'll teach them to play for the bottom of the barrel.

Here's a little tip for you boys - when someone is insistent on being cheap - ignore, if they persist, tell them the items sold, problem solved.

I think the olden days of the Buy&Sell and Auto Trader at least required some thought and effort. Anyone remember writing, and dropping off an ad at the kiosk at 7-11?

I cannot believe the idiots who "just want to get their money back" selling used items. "6 Mo old ipad, lists for $700. Buy from me for $700... NO TAX!!!"

Morons.
