The comments are pretty good from the Seattle men.
It's funny how angry some of the comments were. I read the article and it seemed like a bit of an innocuous fluff piece, a whiny girl who can't get drinks paid for or hit on at a bar, so writes about it and blames it on the men.

And some of the comments were right. If it was a man complaining that way about a woman, he would be labelled misogynist. But some guys wrote long paragraphs trashing this thing. That's a whole lot of intellectual energy. They may have spent more time writing the retort than the columnist spent creating the article.

My favorite line in the article..."more refreshing than a gentleman needing to down two six-packs to adequately express his feelings with big-boy words. Absolutely more refreshing than a man using Twitter, or poking through Facebook, or finding a friend of a friend of a distant cousin to break the ice."

Funny thing is, she's from Alaska, no offence but not exactly the hippest place on earth! Maybe she's the one who's behind the times, and should get with the program...everyone's online dating! Don't take it out on the men in Seattle that you're still living in the 90's, lady!

Written like your typical whiner. I can't get a date with men, ergo, must be their fault. Perhaps the answer lies within a mirror.

Naw...she is is just in dire need of a good solid fuck....a hardcore 6 position 3 orgasm fuck that has her chewing on a pillow whilst in doggy whilst simultaneously clenching the bedsheets and tearing into them with her nails....that is what she needs......and I would give it to her if I could LOL

"shy, timid, and seemingly incapable of striking up a conversation" - that sounds IDEAL. Why are you complaining about well-behaved, respectful men? I don't want to join the dog pile on the author of this silly little article, but I will say that the old narrative of women waiting for a man to pick them up at the bar is TIRED.

Get out there, ladies! If a guy isn't slobbering cheesy pick up lines all over your cleavage, consider yourself in the company of good men and get busy. Start a conversation, make him laugh, have some fun with polite men in a social situation.

And every time I've bought a guy a drink, it was worth the $6 bucks just to see him blush!

In the meantime, I'm moving to Seattle.
