I may not have agreed with him politically, but he was a good man who I believe tried to do what was best for this province.

RIP John Horgan . Way too young to die. 65 is for retirement. Sad and sucks that he did not get to retire and enjoy many more years !
As a red tory, I definitely did not agree with much of the party line, but in my opinion he was the best premier we have had for years.

I am rather surprised. I thought he'd beaten throat cancer like Michael Douglas and Martina Navratilova. At least now we won't have to hear about him anymore or how he got a high paying job through his connections. Good riddance, bully.
Of all the socialist NDP Leaders we’ve had, I would have to say he was one of the best who transitioned from a whiney opposition leader against virtually everything, to a dude that actually made some decisions for what he thought was the best for the people pf this province. I did not vote for him, but I did end up respecting how he handled things once he got in. Eby? Not so much. Sorry to see you go too soon JH.
Yes. Gone too soon. I'm a conservative/ Republican, and I thought he was much better than previous Premiers we had. He tackled a lot of obstacles and did what he could.

Agreed. Thought he did a great job during his tenure far better than his predecessor.. He will be missed. I was shocked when found this out yesterday.
He severely impacted many people's livelihoods by imposing vaccine mandates and ineffective COVID restrictions that did little to curb the spread of the virus. Additionally, he handed over control of the province to an unelected health official, effectively allowing her to govern the province on his behalf during the pandemic. We didn't have a smart politician like DeSantis in Florida, who recognized much earlier than others that the COVID measures were largely ineffective and just political theater.
If you look at stats across US states. the rate of covid deaths in Florida proportinal to the population number was lower or equal to the one in California where the governor enacted draconian measures similar to BC
De Santis sent a swat team to Florida’s medical officer and took her computer and documents. He also disallowed “covid” as a cause of death.

In 2022 CDC reported a covid mortality rate of 37 in California compared to 34 in Florida. Not only those Covid restrictions did nothing in California but actually their mortality rate was worse than in Florida and John Horgan was just repeating those useless policies . They did nothing in California and don't expect different outcomes here in BC except more people dying from overdoses as side effect of lockdowns under John Horgan watch and probably few other unreported thousands of peiople who died by suicide because they went bankrupt or fired from their jobs because of vaccine mandates.
