He was an excellent coach and a great human being. Not to mention, he had style!!
He was universally respected among players and coaches. Also coached a "Dream Team" at the Olympics.

A big loss for the basketball community.

your mom says hi.
back in the middle late 80's when the pistons were winning all the time, chuck had a show on the air. i lived in ontario and our american network feeds were from detroit. i wasn't too old yet but i remember him being a very funny and personable guy.

this is a loss to many for sure.

RIP Chuck

Been a fan of the Pistons since 88 and he was a hella of a coach. He had to manage the ego's and personalities of Isiah Thomas, Bill Laimbeer, Rick Mahorn and Denis Rodman. Led them to back to back championships and created the "jordan rules".

Guess the Atlanta Hawks haven't thought up the "Lebron rules" yet. Too late I guess.

Personally the NBA of the 80's and 90s were about just get the job done and win championships nowadays it's all about style. Who makes more money and who can drive the more expensive car.
It was exciting to see the Lakers, the Celtics, the Pistons and the 76ers go at it.
