Right now I'm leaning towards going through an agency.

i would suggest taking the skytrain to downtown vancouver, since there would be more options available. if you can drive then that's even better.

agency wise, 1122 and luxxxe affaire both have good choices in that budget range. coco has some good choices too. bunz is also a good choice (if driving is an option).
