Is reading comprehension and unknown skill? Or are people just becoming more stupid?

I can't count the number of times I've seen something posted, and the responses look like the person didn't even read the original post.

It's like the post says "I think 2 + 2 = 4", and someone will reply, "Why are you saying 2+ 2 = 5? That's never been the case. You must be a Trump supporter(/Libtard/Nazi/Socialist)." Depending on what side of the fence people sit.

It's not just on here, but any social media. Seems like people just want to say something, and don't even relate it to what was just written.

I get your point, but some of the SP's have to stop writing a thesis when posting an ad. Some of them are just plain hard to comprehend. There are layers and sublayers of packages and add ons and time slots that a man with cum built up to his eyes just sees translucent grey!!

I have always been been the one for simple, brief, informative ad but sometimes I get annoyed at the long drawn essays of services and rates so complex that reading CRA Corporate Tax Return seems simpler.

The worst is when you text her and she responds "oh, didn't you read my ad section 112 subsection (1) with clauses (i) to (iii).

Keep it simpler ladies.

Not referencing ads.

Just look at the election thread, and the disjointed responses.

Speaking of reading, a little proof reading would go a long way too. But after all, we aren't on PERB to learn reading and writing skills.

And a lack of simple research skills to obtain easily verifiable information.

I hate it when people comment before reading an entire thread.

One thread started with an incorrect rumour. Several comments followed pointing out it was false and giving links to prove it.
Other people kept repeating the rumopur in comments without reading the corrections.

Another example: guys who ask idiotic questions over and over again that have been answered several times in the thread.

They were trying to find out how to get in on the rum pour, they thought that they heard about.
Turns out it was just a typo.

You proof APA papers ?!?
I don't even know what APA papers are.

I figure he's the guy who writes the instructions to put together barbecue's from Canadian Tire.....and writes in half sentences just too mess with you.

For the record, it's not funny to tell the customer to lick his finger, place it on the spark igniter , and push the button.....just to make sure it's working.
