That 1.6 second left goal was about as epic as it gets.
So here you have the Jets overall conference leaders in pretty much most departments and the Blues who got into the playoffs as the #2 Wild card ... and who would have thought the Jets would have that much trouble. They really need to get their shit together against Dallas as far as I can see.
Oilers - Vegas, its a toss up. If the Oilers get their goalie game working, they should win other wise ...
Leafs - Panthers well I for one just can't bet on the Leafs historical and they are from T Dot. :)
All the pundits seem to be picking Carolina but Ove!!! I think this one is a toss up.
From there, well let the games begin. Best hockey on the planet!!

Someone sent me a bracket of the playoffs before they got going, had the Montreal Canadians against the Edmonton oilers in the finals. The little prick Bettman’s worst nightmare. Obviously has it fallen apart but at least there are 3 Canadian teams in the 2nd round.

That was a pretty dominant performance by the Oilers tonight. I think Vegas got just 2 shots in the last two periods when it was 5 on 5.
Mind you Stone and Eichel are a dangerous pairing out there. I think this will be a bang up series.

If McJesus gets the powerplay scoring, Vegas will be in trouble despite their disciplined play (lowest penalties).

Love to see the Jets have a good series. Happy for their fans to see a secound round!

Leafs? Root but not hope. Lol.

Go Canada 🇨🇦

All my opinions here:

The Leafs have been the surprise so far. Do it guys if not for anything other than to get into the 3rd round. The long suffering fans deserve some kind of payback for 40+ years of hoping.

Canes, Caps, a toss up as I see it. It could get fugly as this gets closer to a 7th game.
Jets, Stars, well go Jets go! Something's up with Hellebuyck or maybe its the Jets defence or maybe its Rantanen. One thing seems certain to me, the Avalanche should be kicking themselves for trading this superstar away.

Oilers, Knights, well now the pundits have the OIl as +300 to win the show. Their once daunted powerplay absolutely sucks at the moment and that needs to get kick started. Vegas is a really good team and as I see it last night, it was only Pickard's heroics that kept them in OT long enough for McJesus to do McJesus things. And on that, he has another gear that no one seems to be able to match. Eichel is a superstar in his own right and the Mc blew by him like he was standing still. But as I see it they need their power play as they are not going to last as this all moves on.

What a great time to be a hockey fan!

Midway through the 2nd round seems momentum is turning against Cdn based teams.
Jets' road difficulty continues,Leafs are 2-2 with Panthers surging and Oilers not putting a stranglehold on their series.
Of the 3 I worry most about the Jets though the Leafs are a concern and Oilers goal tending is an adventure.
Time for a bounce back.

Some observations from the Oilers Knights game tonight.
First time I have seen the Oilers crash the other guys net. Despite it happening to them time and time again. It worked.
McJesus needs to shoot more when he's in the slot. I mean I can't see what he sees but it seems to me shooting more should pay off more than passing in those situations.
Vegas was beat to the puck in most corners tonight, looked like the fore checking threw them.
Where did this batch of other guys come from that the Oilers are playing these days? Seems like a lot of them are 10 year plus veterans, all playing aggressive high energy hockey.
If the Oilers play like that the rest of their games I doubt anyone can beat them.

Carolina - Washington
Brind'Amour has the Canes playing smart playoff hockey, they can score from anywhere when they get their mojo working.
Washington seemed out of gas. Next game will tell but I think that will be it for Ove and crew.

Jets - Stars
I fear for the Jets ... Despite them clobbering the Stars last game, I think that was more the Stars having an off day maybe needing a break. But I hope not.

Leafs - Panthers
Not again ...

I'm happy to be proven wrong about Oilers' goalkeeping..for 1 game anyway.
Vegas is down 3-1 but still dangerous.
Caps also down 3-1 not dangerous imo.
Panthers-Leafs now best of 3 and Fla seems to be finding their game?
Game 4 is almost must-win for the Jets.
Stars are looking solid.

The Jets to me, looked beat. That last 6 on 5 session when they pulled the goalie seemed like they had no jump. I hope they can keep in going but it looks a bit bleak.

Edmonton..back 2 back bagels!wtf?
I call goaltending the dime principle..I believe the diameter of a dime can be the difference between hero and zero, between penthouse and shithouse.

The Jets have been much better at home so Maybe they can prolong things but I wouldn't bet on it.

Panthers look better with each game, can't see them losing at home.

Canes also going well, should end it in game 6 if the Caps manage to win game 5 at home.

Looks like Miami in the Finals 3rd time on the trot
Not much coverage in Asia so I am guessing Paul Maurice is downplaying 3-0? Reminding that they were 3-0 vs Oilers and it went 7.
I think the brooms come out next game.
Edmonton up 2-1 outshot 34-24 in Game 3 but Skinner has been Horatio-at-the-bridge.
Expect that one to go 7 and the winner to face a rested Panthers team.

Just have time for hockey these days ... and some pooning.

Panthers seem to have the Canes number. At the time I write this about 25 min to puck drop in Game 4. Could be a sweep but I think if anything its going to be one hard hitting game. Hope it isn't a sweep.

Back to my comment as the Oilers were finishing off the Kings, if they play like that it would be tough to beat them. Skinner the NHL's worst and best goalie and finally McGeeeeeesus is shooting and scoring. And it seems their defense is better than its has been for decades.

The general line as of now is Panthers -108 Oilers +115. Being an ex Albertan and staunch Canadian I say phooey ... Oilers vs Panthers, Oil in 6. and I do think its Oilers in 5 vs Stars but really what does any of us know when it comes to this level of hockey. And by gum its good!!

The rematch
That was a humdinger of a game the other night and the OT goal ... at the moment it was just a "yes they scored" but after looking at the replays then the full rink clip of exactly what happened, I thought THAT has to be and maybe will be, the most orchestrated, raw talent on display OT goal in NHL history. Touches by each Oiler up ice, precision passes incredibly smart hockey all at the end of the 4th period in a SCF game ... Wow just Wow.

1st 2 games go to Overtime....doesn't get closer than that.Expect the physicality to ramp up with each game.
Can't help but think what would happen to Bennett if he was crashing the crease of Hextall?or Billy Smith? His head would be in Row 5,lol.

Abbottsford Canucks leading Texas Stars 3-2 with 2 chances to close it at home and go to Calder Cup Finals.
If they can pull it off it'll be the only trophy a team called Canucks will get in the foreseeable future, lol

Tonight, Lions start the season hosting Edmonton, full house will be rocking
