Rachel brought a lot to this season of True Detective, she was really hot in it even in her characters' disheveled way. The entire cast was excellent and the whole season had a Chinatown and To Live and Die in LA feel to it, I don't give a damn what the critics or anyone else has to say about it. Compared to Season 1 its apples and oranges.

Without the makeup and "photofinishing", most of them don't really. They look their age, and there is nothing wrong with that, but saying they are "ageing well" is not any more true than it is for anyone else. Most people can look good when properly made up.

When she was younger she didn't need make up. Consider that.
