On Sunday I started to experience Fever, frequent urination, some minor pain. Was hoping it was going to go away but is still present today. I went to a local clinic and the doctor said that Urinary tract infections were not normal in men, more something that a woman could contract. he suggested that it could be due to some sort of blockage and suggested I visit my regular doctor and get an appt to see a neuroligist. He gave me a prescription for an antibiotic and said if the fever wasn't down in a few days I should come back.
My question is can my infection be related to the pooning hobby? I do BBBJ but everything else is covered.
Would appreciate any input you could provide

Hi good2bbad
I hope that you are feeling better.
Most urinary tract infections UTI just affect the bladder but in some cases the infection can move higher and also affect the kidneys. Symptoms can be that it hurts when you pee, urine smells or is cloudy, need to pee frequently but not much urine comes out etc…
Women get more (UTI) than men. This has to do with the location of the urethra (pee tube) and the different length of the urethra between men and woman (men’s urethra is longer).
It is common for us to get men who come into the clinic thinking they have a UTI (bladder infection) e.g. it hurts when they pee.
What we know is that it is uncommon for young men to get bladder infections and most of the time what they are experiencing is urethritis, which is an infection of the urethra (pee tube). Most urethritis in men is caused by something that is sexually transmitted.
What usually happens is people feel uncomfortable about discussing what is happening in their sex life and don’t tell the doctor their entire sexual history e.g. Some sexual risk. This makes the doctor think that it could be a UTI as it appears that the man has not had a sexual risk with the history they have given.
To answer your question I am not sure if this is related to pooning as I would need to know more information about your particular medical history, sexual history and symptoms.
What I can tell you is that if you are having pain when urinating that this could be caused by an STI and that certain STI can be passed with a bbbj. Here is a link for more information.

It was great that you went to a doctor, I know that it can be difficult telling the doctor your full sexual history. It sounds like a few different things may be happening to you especially if the doctor wanted you to follow up with a specialist. Did the doctor mean a urologist?
