One big vote for quality versus quantity. The experience is paramount, and I find that the money is not really a part of the determining factors over the long term. Some people just have a natural awareness for this work and I have been fortunate to meet some of the bestBoo32 said:

Of course, one good screw is better than three lousy ones. On the other hand one good screw is NOT better than three good ones, obviously. If CLM can give me three, hundred dollar screws that each are every bit as good as the one screw at 300, then I'm opting for quantity.
But I don't think that's been the experience of most pooners. Most of the time the low-cost stuff is pretty piss-poor and so quantity is not worth it.
And that's how I define a gem: Good quantity AND quality at a reasonable price. And they're rare.
