To parallel the SPs & Why they are in industry, I think it is only fair to ask the opposite question of us pooners.

Personally, I do it for a number of reasons:

1) Because I can

2) I am divorced and have needs, but really don't want to get into another relationship at this time in my life.

3) I get to see some of the most beautiful women I have ever met, even if only for a short time. Lord knows, there is someone to suit everyones' taste in this industry. With them, I get to have the time of my life. Once I am done, I go home and back to my own little slice of reality.

4) Sure, I have settled on 1 specific SP for most of my adventures, but I spend time with others as well whenever I feel like it. It isn't the same as an SO in that I am able to play elsewhere without any risk of jealousy or other relationship based issues when seeing more than 1 person.

I admire and respect all these kind souls who are willing to give so much of themselves to make my days a bit brighter.

Well... I am going to have to agree with you on most of this. :D I have only had way better sex with 2 pros than my personal relationships (or at least 1 of my personal relationships). One of the pros, I see as much as I can, the other... well... she's no longer in the industry, so I can't see her any more.

I wish I had known earlier...

I know it's not realistic, but I wish that when I was younger that someone had taken me aside and said "Listen shyboy one two three, for a very reasonable expense you can spend some intimate time with beautiful girls with no strings attached."

I would have started years ago!

Reasons:

I love sexy time and demand is rarely met by supply.
The lack of complications or let downs is refreshing.
I don't want to be unfair to someone - if I am interested in a girl it is not always for a serious relationship and often the girl is or will be soon enough.
Face it, most of these girls are amazing - how could you resist? I am like a kid in a candy store.

I think this topic comes up twice a year. But I digress...

I do it, because after many years of marriage, working extremely hard at trying to have sex and failing more often than trying. My personal record is 10 months of being told "no". Thats just harsh.

At least here, it is as has already been stated. I choose the time and the female actually does whatever she can to make sure that I am satisfied. I pay, but at least I get to play!

I did due to my ex-wife. The pooning itself did not occur during the marriage as I was completely faithful to her. Instead it occured after supporting my ex-wife through school and working overtime to get her a trip to visit her family she decided that the best way to show her appreciation would be to sleep with her ex-boyfriend. I then saw a couple of women during the next couple of months after. I don't when I'm in a relationship but outside of a relationship I find it a lot less headache and more honest to see an escort instead of a lot of the relationship games that take place.

As a side note I find it very hypocritical of society that a woman who works as a prostitute is given an extremely negative stigma when a woman such as my ex-wife, since she is hot and has a master's degree, is regarded as an upstanding member of society. The women that I did see (neither are in Edmonton anymore and as I'm assuming they continued with the plans they told me about I wish them the best) gave me far more peace of mind and companionship than I had gotten during my marriage. For that matter, I would have been better off both emotionally and financially if instead of being with my ex- I had just seen escorts two to three times a month during the duration of my marriage.

Well, I'd have to admit, I am exactly the same with the exception of #4. Back in the day I had a favorite, but she moved on. Still searching for that new all time favorite.
