"Own the Podium"...

Another GOLD for Canada.....that makes 6 golds now!! I'd say that's pretty damn good!

Canada's Ashleigh McIvor won the gold medal in the ladies' ski cross final on Tuesday at Cypress Mountain. The podium finish marked Canada's 11th medal of the Vancouver Games.

The medal count is a nice bonus.

First and foremost, we're having one heck of a party in our home town.

Except Hunny.

Huny won't be happy until we get a Tour de Vancouver, 10 speed bike racing championship in town (he loves his boys in tights). Oh well, the rest of us can still continue to have fun and enjoy this great event!:p

I don't watch figure skating nornally
so you don't nornally watch figure skating:rolleyes:...

just curious, what does that have to do with the courageous performance of Joannie...

you are pathetic...

and even though "you don't watch figure skating nornally"...

I still think you're a little impotent fruit fly:cool:...

You're not too bright are ya huny! Meaning her courage and strength (words you don't know the meaning of) made me want to tune in and cheer for her, even though it's not a sport I'm interested in. It's called the Olympic spirit and caring about others. Most of us would have watched and cheered for her if she was from Timbuktu That's something you will never understand and that's too bad for you.

**Kind of like Cheering for Lance to win the Tour de France after battling back from Cancer, even though I don't care for 10 speed riding as a sport. The thing is, a lot of people going through Cancer can get inspiration from him and those of us who aren't can do the same. As Adriana so eloquently put it in another thread........FU Troll

how many medals did they win in 2006 stupid...
I will probably get hit with a banning or reprimand of some sort, but I know it will be worth ith.

hunny, you are the single biggest jerkoff on this board, and very likely in the top ten of all time jerkoffs.

If anyone wants to know what hunny looks like, welll, just go to Webster's and look up jerkoff, and there you will find a picture of hunny.

you really do fit the old saying that goes, you know more and more about less and less that you know everything about nothing.

Do you actually have a life, a job, a family, friends, I can't imagine anyone wanting to have anything to do with you. You are a total jerkoff.

we're half way through...

we have home country advantage...

and the medal total is extremely disappointing...

things can change, but our athletes just aren't getting it done...

why can't we be more like the Americans...
Americans are very patriotic. They cheer for their country win or lose. Maybe YOU should be more like the Americans.

Seems to me the bulk of us already are. We cheer for our country/city/hockey team. Go Canada!

Apparently, we're now guaranteed to at least match our medal total from Turin with the opportunity to surpass it if things go well in certain events. Considering that fact as well as the fact that, despite the misfortunes of some of the past events, we've set a record for the most golds ever for Canada at a winter olympics with the chance for even more, I'd say our athletes have done pretty well.

Great point - I think it's been a superb games for Canada, and now we're leading in gold medals, which is a huge deal.

Well 24 medals at least now, we are the favs in all 3 matchups.
Hockey, curling, and that 3 man long track.

Plus looks like the 4 man bob is in good position.
Its going to be very close in total golds, the hockey game might decide total golds.

People were so concerned last week, when we weren't doing that well.
But we were never more than 3-4 medals under where we expected to be.
When you think of all the medals that we almost had, or had some bad luck, the team is by far the strongest ever.

As of today we have MORE GOLD medals than anyone else (10) and could equal or break the record (13) of gold medals for a winter Olypmics

I'm glad I was able to light a fire under our athletes:cool:...

maybe if we hadn't gone in so cocky we would have won more medals...

Everyone (except you) knew that the bulk of Canada's medals would come in the 2nd week. You lit the fire? Hardly. For you to take credit for something those hard-working dedicated athletes accomplished (with nothing but disparaging posts from you) shows that you know nothing about anything but throwing insults around.
