The hand protection is simply a leather strap that protects the palm from having the callouses ripped off (feckin painfull) by the metal high bar coated with chalk. The uneven bars are made of wood, so it is a little easier on the hands. The high bar is metal and gets coated with chalk. It gets to be very dry and rough. A competitor is not permitted any mechanical aids like a hook, or around the bar strap, besides it would interfere with release moves.

Sooo... 7 medals. So far we have half of what we got at Sydney.

We have a plethora of finalist boats in the canoe/kayak competitions and our baseball team has a chance at bronze. We are the defending champions of men's triathalon.

Can we reach 14? Doesn't look like it this time.
