Damn new email accounts I keep having to create to register a new profile on CL!

I usually create a gmail account and once all is done, I set up the forwarding feature to send all incoming mail to the gmail account I normally use. This way I can avoid having to keep track of yet another inbox.


Well... I did this today and then moved on to other things on CL.. apartment search. I saw an interesting ad and immediately emailed to inquire about it and ask for a few details. Hit Send. And then...


Shit!

I had apparently neglected to log out of the account after I set it up to forward all incoming mail to the other one..

I sent an email inquiring about an apartment from an email account that had the words Fun & Flexible and with Willing & Responsive as my freaking name.


Guess I can forget about that apartment!
(I'm just sooo glad I decided NOT to include my phone number!) LOL

Instead of forwarding, you could do it all from your main account. You can set your main account to download via pop from your alter ego account to your main account.

All you need on your main account is to set up different identities and it's very easy to pick your identity when writing an email. Thus people will see the reply to for whatever identity you choose. Set an auto filter to auto label those emails from your alter ego account for quick and easy identification.

Voila, only one account to log into.

Yes, I already do that for accounts I do use (to send and receive).

(But fyi - when you set it up that way, even if you pick this new email as the sender, the 'main' gmail account still shows when the person receives it. That can blow your cover in a hurry! So even with this feature, I still have to keep 2 separate inboxes, one strictly for personal email accounts, and one for naughty accounts. That's a lot of accounts to keep track of, I don't want any new ones! I just need to remember to log out when I'm done!! lol)

In this case, the account is created only so I can set up an account on CL - but I don't actually want to use it to send emails, I just want the responses from CL to come right into my 'main' account so i can forget about the other one altogether.

I think you should give her a responce.. if she sent you a message and answered your questions maybe she's happy that you fun... and you have flexibility in your days.. and that you are both willing and responsive.. not a lot of people are....

I'd fire her off a note.. (this time from a different email though)... Especially if it's in an area you want to be in..
