Sentenced to at least 18 years in prison for his Vegas get my stuff back bonehead move. The Goldman & Brown families must be happy I do feel a sorry for his kids but they are probably better off without the sick fuck!!

"Former football star O.J. Simpson was sentenced to 18 years in a Nevada prison on Friday after being found guilty on 12 charges, including conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon, for his participation in the robbery and kidnapping of two sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in September 2007.

Clark County District Judge Jackie Glass handed down the sentence to Simpson, who faced a minimum of six years and a maximum of the remainder of his life in prison. He is eligible for parole after eight years.

Simpson apologized before the sentencing and told the judge he was sorry about trying to retrieve his memorabilia. "I didn't want to steal anything from anyone...I'm sorry, sorry," he said.

Judge Glass ruled before sentencing that Simpson cannot be freed on bail pending possible appeal.

Simpson had pleaded not guilty to all charges, including conspiracy, coercion and assault with a deadly weapon. Deliberations in the case began 13 years to the day after Simpson was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles in 1994. After the "Trial of the Century," Simpson was found liable of the deaths in a civil suit and ordered to pay $33.5 million.

In his latest brush with the law, Simpson was accused of walking into a Las Vegas hotel room on September 13, 2007, with Stewart and four other men and robbing the memorabilia dealers of items Simpson said had been stolen from him."

This is such bullshit, people's lynch-mob attitudes.

He was acquitted in the murder trial,
and within that is the fact
that he should be addressed in this trial
as if he had a clean slate - like it or not.

(Personally, I believe he might not have done the murder deed, but obviously was there, and knows who did).

I don't care who it is, they deserve a fair trial.
And the punishment should fit the crime.

Who of you deserves 18 years in jail for stealing stuff that
used to or should still belong to you, from people in a HOTEL room. ???

Who among you?
Even if you are stupid enough to take a gun.
Memorabelia???
The posts in here tell me that there's no way any of you could give the man a fair hearing.

The article I read said UP TO 30 years.

This is not armed bank robbery! Geesh!
There's no way OJ could get a fair trial anywhere.
I can see five years, maybe. That's what a you or I, any non-celebrity would get for a similar crime. Maybe the appeals will bring it back in line with what is appropriate.

Remember -
If the conspiracy doesn't fit, you must acquit!

OJ was setup.

18 years for demanding your stuff back. He touched no one, and they called it kidnapping just because he said no one leaves until I get my stuff back????

I think he can get an appeal. It was an all white jury that convicted him.

If OJ robbed a bank at gunpoint he would have got less time. Does this make sense?

OJ was found guilty based on evidence presented to the court. Nobody here has seen nor heard all of the evidence offered, so commenting on whether you believe he is guilty or not makes no sense. His sentence was based on mandatory sentences, not arbitrarily by a judge with ulterior motives. Chastising people for being happy over the verdict also makes no sense. He is a violent criminal who thought he was above the law. Now he knows that he is not.

He deserve the sentence and hope he rots in jail. OJ had a 2nd chance in life but thought he was above the law. His 250k a yr NFL retirement fund couldnt be touched by lawsuits by the brown/goldman group. So he could have enjoyed his life in thailand or wherever bangin hotties all day eating awesome food.

Was watching cnn and the legal analyst said he thought OJ got less time cause of his celebrity. The judge etc didnt wanna seem to harsh on him but anybody else would have received life in prison for the same crime. Not sure if that's the case or not. There are certain laws in that state and he's broken them.
