So with the lock-down in the homes of individuals, what new recipes have you tried?

For me it was vegetable soup. No meat or grains added, just vegetables. Some spices.

Baked my first loaf of bread. I had run out and was dreading the trip to the grocery, since they have implemented entry limits. But then I realized I had bread flour and yeast so gave it a shot. Delicious. And so easy with a no-knead recipe. Only took about 15 minutes of work, tops.

I have been into making my own pizzas lately, once or twice a week, trying different crusts, sauces, toppings, and cheeses. There must be thousands of different combinations if you wanted to try them all. One crust was 50/50 whole wheat/white flour, then I used alfredo sauce, some meat, a few small perogies, and 3 cheese blend to finish it off. While making it, I'll be honest I wondered if the weird combination would be okay, or disgusting. It was really good, and I will probably make something similar again soon.
Make sure you precook the perogies in boiling water until they float to the top, then scoop them out with a slotted spoon.

I found out Costco has a pizza kit, made from cauliflower. Just add meat and cheeze.

I love perogies with bacon bits.... mostly the potatoe and cheeze type. One type to try is the rice and hamburger perogie... mmm. ... also sour cream.....

*pierogi* *potato* *cheese* Sorry it's a slow day.

Cauliflower and pineapple shouldn't be in pizza, let alone the same sentence as pizza.

Thanks 80, I'll look the next time I'm in Costco. Not a big cauliflower fan, but it is good to try new things.

LOL! You remind me of Kramer and his pizza idea, when he wanted to put cucumbers on his pizza!!

Homemade hamburger helper

Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 medium onion diced
1/2 red pepper diced
1 pinch red pepper flakes or more, if you like it spicy!
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 cube frozen spinach or about 1 cup fresh, chopped fine
1 1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup beef broth
2 1/2 cups dry uncooked macaroni
1 1/2 cups tomato or pasta sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
Instructions
To a large pot add beef, onion, peppers, pepper flakes, garlic, salt, Italian seasoning and spinach. Cook over medium high heat until beef is browned.
Add in milk, broth, macaroni and tomato sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook 12-15 minutes, stirring often.
Stir in 1 cup of cheese. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top, cover and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Been doing variations of different fish/seafood stews with tomatoes and fennel seeds. Barely any salt or oil and so tasty. Great on its own with extra zucchini or potato or also on rice/quinoa.
