Hahahaha....

Only concerned with getting his service; not worried about how/who pays. NDP? Are you sure? Shocking...

1) This is a non-issues at best. It only would be an issue if you audited the expenses and travel habits of all MLA's and determined that he alone was either abusing (regularily) the system. Also, you're assuming immediately that this is a regular, intentional occurance... rather than possibly just an unfortunate one-of event. Hell, even I'd give Christy Clark a pass for losing a ticket once (something that can happen to anyone)... and I REALLY hate her. Try for a moment to separate the politics from the situation, hmmm?

Last I checked, local media down played the drunk driving charge against Hon. Gordon Campbell... and completely ignored the fact that the Hawaii police found him with his mistress, rather than his wife. The drunk driving charge alone should've meant an immediate resignation from him, but it didn't even spark anything more than a passing commentary (oh, poor gordo!) from that particular newspaper. Now, which indisrcetion seems worse? His was very much intentional... the lost ticket? Questionable at best.

2) The article even goes on to point out that Dix states that he had purchased a ticket earlier on, but had misplaced it at the time of questioning... and that he was fully prepared to pay the fine. Gregor Robinson was caught in a similar bind (http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/story.html?id=fc5c49a8-232f-4c55-9fa1-8d7c734e2212), although at least he managed to locate his ticket.

Really, isn't it about time that we put to bed this ridiculous west coast habit of incredibly biased reporting? Seriously, the rest of Canada laughs at us for this nonsense... if a left leaning politician screws up (minor), it's reported as if they are bringing about the end of civilization as we know it... but if a right leaning politician screws up (major stuff), it's either brushed off as business as usual or passed over entirely.

The following site is, obviously, quite biased... but there are accurate statements made. (I'm just saying...you tell me who's worse) http://lailayuile.com/100-reasons-the-bc-liberals-must-go/

Some foreshadowing of what to expect in the future from our potential NDP Premier?

We will do whatever we want on your dime.

“I take transit probably hundreds of times a year so I know the rules. I bought a ticket ... but the violation is not having it when asked and I didn’t have it,” Dix said.

...

Dix said he would have been “absolutely prepared to pay” the $173 fare evasion fine if it had been issued to him.

He noted he gets stopped and asked for his ticket at least every couple of weeks, usually on weekends when the trains aren’t so busy, and must have been distracted that morning.

“No excuses, it’s my responsibility,” he said. “It happens. I feel bad about it but that’s the way it goes.”
Again, I repeat...a non issue. Try separating the personal issue from the political one. He obviously does purchase tickets, otherwise, he would've had a fine rather than a warning. He's also owning up to it.

As far as "on the tax payers dime"... YES, just like ANY OTHER MLA. They all are able to write off their transportation, to one degree or another. He's writing off public transit, while other people are writing off SUV's. Beyond what they write off, they are personally responisble for paying for their own transit... just like any other working stiff.

Seriously, the right wing rhetoric is verging on the inane these days.

Touched a nerve huh? :pound:

They can only write off expenses that have receipts. Clearly there was no receipt for this transaction.

Want to talk about inane? Go read your own posts.

Touched a nerve? Nope... just tired of seeing dumbass stuff from people that haven't even read the article thay they are quoting :)

It's just typical of BC... making a mountain out of a molehill when it comes to the left wing.

And the Liberals didn't do the same? Can't we all agree they are crooked as a barrel of snakes?

Nobody has the morale high ground in BC Politics. If you think otherwise you are seriously deluded. All the parties have a certain stench level and it depends upon your own personal tolerance to bad smells.

Christy Clark in my book has to come clean on the BC Rail scandal and tell us why Basi and Virk's 6M legal fees were paid by our taxes.

Dix did generate a false document in support of Glen Clark during Bingogate so he is not exactly a choir boy either. After that I guess fare evasion is an easy one :pound:

My MLA admitted to a DUI yet somehow managed to get the case tossed out. Go figure.

Me, I have my eyes wide open for the next election. If I like one candidate who doesn't ask me to call them comrade and they won't take all my disposable income to pay for social programmes that would be the envy of other socialist countries; I may consider them.

This is a non issue to me simply because I've never expected any better from the free loading libtards who want to steal from Sam and give to Joe for no reason other than that Joe likes to sit on his ass all day and watch Oprah!

This is a non-issue. There are plenty of valid avenues of criticism of Dix and the NDP without having to resort to this kind of nonsense. Although I do concede that there is some guilty pleasure to be had in seeing one's political opponents suffer public embarrassment.

In other news, some other politicians' meter expired the other day.

Public inquiry to come.

People when will you all get it through your heads, they ALL suck! Our Province has absolute tools running in all the parties. Why you guys even continue to argue about them is beyond me.

Seriously people..it's the same sh*t over and over.
So, what's your point?

Do you just not vote and ignore whatever politicians do to you, or do you have a suggestion?

It's so funny when a politician is caught in a minor infraction. All of a sudden, the vultures are all over the place. It's not like this guy was caught drinking and driving or anything.
