Ok, so it isn't maverick73's thread, but he probably would have started one if he was still around... the guys seemed to be a Reality TV show junkie and he seemed to start a thread or had a take on just about every reality tv show. So this thread is in honour of him...

Anybody else watching this show? Who's been your favorites so far and who do you think will win?

I've liked Lukas Rossi's singing and he carries himself like a rockstar (although he sometimes comes off as a bit of an ass), but I don't think a Canadian will win this competition twice in a row. So far I like Toby Rand to win.

I think the Aussies from INXS were a little nicer with their comments to their contestants. I personally like the harsher criticism from the Supernova guys. It seems to me that it's even affected Dave Navarro a bit too as he seems harshers with his comments.

different 'band' and different personalities ... with INXS the biggest worry JD has is who is reaming his ass this stop-over!

with 'supernobodies' the 'winner' has to put up with guys who if they hadn't lucked out with music would probably be pimps ... so if you can't take one night of abuse from these guys how would you survive a whole tour???

Lukas is too 'glam',too 'girly,too 'fem' for these guys,yeah. Fronting for the exes of Metallica and Guns N Roses,Hard sell. Maybe Motley Crue during the Theature of Pain years(et-al the hair years).

I do think Lukas is a wierd looking dude though...

Should fit in well with Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke and Jason Newsted...

Well, Jenny from Vancouver got the boot last night after putting on a poor performance on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights. No surprise as she's been very weak from the beginning. That leaves one Canadian in the running... Lukas.

I can't imagine that Dana will last much longer on the show. She's a very weak singer with zero stage presence. Horrible to watch her...

Other ramblings so far...

I've been impressed with the stage presence of Dilana, but don't think that she's a strong singer... same could be said about Lukas. They could show me something down the road though... Phil seems like he's got good pipes, but I don't think his personality matches the rest of Supernova... So far so good for Magni... I think Jill is a hottie and she can sing, but I don't know about her personality meshing with Supernova... Where's the catch phrase this year? Last year was "I'm sorry but you're just not right for our band." This year it's "You gotta go"

I was rooting for Lukas from day 1, and think he did a killer job with that Beatles tune last week. I agree, he kinda blew it with the Idol tune. I do think he is a good fit for the band as well.
However...
I've since changed my mind and have decided I like Dilana more. She outperforms all the rest, and I'd like to see her get the role.

Either way, they wouldn't go wrong with either one of the two.

Just blowing the dust off this thread...

After 7 weeks of performances, I think that Magni has been the most consistant performer. The guy can flat out sing. His performance 2 weeks ago with the Live song Dolphin's Cry was one of the best I've seen on the whole show. He's turned into a solid competitor. He's one of my favorites, but I don't know if he can beat out Dilana or Lukas who I think are in the front seat even though I think Magni has the best pipes.

After watching a few weeks, I think Toby will be gone soon. I liked his singing originally, but he seems limited. Someone like Ryan has grown as a singer but Toby just seems to be average with no growth.. same thing for every lady not named Dilana.

I think Lukas would be the best fit for the band but, I dunno, maybe he has shown too much attitude earlier on at the house/mansion with the others. He shows great range and good stage presence.
Ryan has come on lately but he doesn't "look" the part.
Magni would also be a good choce....really strong voice and consistent week to week.
I liked Toby early on, but his performances of late seem a bit weak...maybe it is the songs he is singing.
Dilana...good voice in a Bonnie Tyler sort-of-way. While good, I don't think could take listening to her for a long period of time (ie. a CD or in concert with the band). I don't think she has the range of the Lukas/Ryan/Magni. However, I think the band likes her and she may be the one they choose.

I'll go with Lukas, then Magni as my favs. My gut tells me that Dilani will win however.

I couldn't belive that Zairya made it this deep. I think the US Latino community was out in droves voting for her.

Magni is a strong singer but with the high forehead probably doesn't
have the physical qualities to sell CD's.

My money is on Lukas / Dillana. Lukas with the pouty 'tude might
become a problem down the road for the band though.

Dillana with the energy and charisma she generates may take it. Personally
all the metal in her head and face is a complete turnoff to me. Someone compared her to a Darby Mills type and that is a close approximation.

I hate reality shows but I have set the PVR to Rockstar, most of the songs are good hard rock music.

I don't watch Reality TV as a rule, but I did watch that episode where Dillana sang with that mangy haired guitarist... fricken goose bumps all the way through that song.

The rest of em made my skin curl... and that wierd chick that came out in the zany costume... should go back to grade school and learn how to sing.

Yeah it was driving me nuts that kept getting by every week. She was a horrible singer and was constantly off key. The only song she didn't sound horrible on was the original song she wrote. If she plans to pursue a career in music she should stick to albums in spanish and market herself to the latino market.

Magni's a good singer, I was suprised to see him in the bottom 3 this week, figured Storm most likely, then Toby, Magni least likely. He doesn't have the presence that Lucas and Dilana do though.

Wonder how much song writing ability will play into the bands final decision. Could tilt the decision in Lucas's favour over Dilana. After they wrote the lyrics to a Supernova track they band said Lucas really got what the band was about while they called Dilana's lyrics corny.

Your predictions look reasonable, but I'm hoping that after Patrice goes the next one will be Storm. She's really starting to annoy me with her insincere look of shock when someone else goes home... how many weeks of people being booted out before she realizes that this is going to happen every week?

Now I am really worried. Last night's Supernova song was nothing to write home about. I can't even remember the chorus. And Dilana was ordinary for the 1st time in the competition. I am beginning to see the limitations of her vocal range.

I think Ryan is the most improved but the angry singer routine is getting old really fast.

My predictions, in a next to go order:

Patrice
Toby or Ryan
Ryan or Toby
Storm
Magni/Dilana/Lukas the final 3
If Supernova plays it safe, Magni will win.
If not, Lukas will win.

They will make one album and disband.
