I really hope it's a wake up call for wildfire prone communities. This could be them in the next few weeks. Lytton barely had 20 minutes of notice of evacuation.
If I was living in one of them, it'd sure keep me up at night.
Whole new construction code for high heat areas?
Concrete or brick, of certain thickness (I suggest 8 in minimum) . Metal heat shield for windows (like hurricane shutters). Manditory sprinkler/demister system for roof and building sides. Fire proof insulation like roxul. Steel studs. Metal roofs. Cement siding boards.
And for the tin hat guys -aluminum wrap for the house.
