Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Was flicking channels last night and came across the last 1\2 hour honouring Led Zepplin.
Except for the Foo Fighters, I wasn't all that impressed with the performances. My daughter is like "Who is that Dad?" Kids! So I sat her down, broke out some old vinyl and spent a couple of hours listening to some vintage Zep.:clap2:
How was the tribute to Buddy Guy? I would have liked to see that.:thumb: Maybe I can find it on You Tube.

Cheers

I agree, Kid fucking Rock was an embarrassment in the Led Zeppelin tribute, Lenny Kravitz was ok and the Wilson sisters doing Stairway to Heaven quite passable. The Buddy Guy tribute was better.

I recorded it.

90% Awesome, 10% for the ballerina :pound:

They did great tributes to Dustin Hoffman, David Letterman, Buddy Guy and Led Zep. One of the best Kennedy Centre Honours I have ever seen. I saw Buddy Guy out at Red Robinson Theatre. He is amazing live and totally converses with the audience and gives a retrospective of his career and how some others copied his shit. cough cough like some riffs that Elvis used, like Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, Jeff Beck etc etc.

Just found this on YouTube. Heart's version of Stairway is much more than just "passable".

The guys from Zeppelin appear to have been moved by the performance. Jimmy Page was beaming like a giddy schoolboy, and Robert Plant was practically reduced to tears.

I never thought I'd see Yo-Yo Ma rocking out to a Zep tune :)

Yah I laughed at that one too :D That cover of Stairway to Heaven with the choir and symphony really kicked it up a notch IMHO.

Dating myself here, but Heart was a very good cover band back in the day. Most of their set list was from Led Zep, Jethro Tull and all the hard rockin bands of the day.

I used to see them play at local clubs here in Vancouver. The weird thing was they would be introduced as "Vancouver's own, Heart" when everyone in the place new they were from Seattle.

I am amazed how good Nancy Wilson still looks
