a couple cops should get a big L branded on their foreheads too for the jurisdictional pandering they did that stopped them from sharing information that might have resulted in a conviction as well.

if KH doesn't get Dangerous Offender status, i hope she gets a taste of her own medicine some night instead.

I heard from someone else that Karla used the name Leeann Teale. More people need to be aware that she will probably change her name (and her appearance,) once she is out of prison in an effort to blend into the general population.

A little surprised there was never any inquiry about the police bungling of this case, not that the police would want an inquiry! I recall an allegation that Bernardo was actually arrested by Niagara or Peel cops on his way out of the country. He came very close to getting away. At the time he was supposed to be under constant surveillance by Metro Toronto but they kept losing him.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

A really sad thought is that, like Pickton, there may be other victims nobody will ever know about.

The cynic's view...

First of all I'm not a former criminal. But at what point can you get back into society and not be under the supervision of public/police. The gov't made a deal to get the worst of the two put away for life. The second person has done the twelve years that was set out on the plea agreement. She's done her time, I think its wrong that the police will be tailing her for who knows how long. At some point in time a person should be able to try and get their life back if they have served their time.

I personally think she is a very evil person, but she has paid her debt to society and should be allowed to get on with her life or what's left of it.

Just a different perspective.

Don't worry, they'll lose track of her soon enough. This whole show is being put on by the Parole Board who've been on the front burner recently for screwing up a lot worse releases.
