Relative to the carnage by the domestic feline, the number of birds killed by wind power is insignificant. When I lived in California, the number of birds killed by these (back in the 90s) in the Livermore area where there were lots of these was minor. It was just the locals being NIMBYs protesting about the 'visual' impact and using any propaganda they could. Having worked in the resource industries for many years, I would say oil does kill far more birds. If one wants to criticize wind power, it would be about the disposal of old blades, etc. but then you would have to start talking about abandoned wells........

think about how many birds, and for that matter entire species, that are going extinct from our boiling the atmosphere.

That's cute.
It takes millions of years to evolve new species, not just a few dozen.

Among the many species that will fail to adapt and will be goners: humans. Yup, we'll cause the very extinction event that kills us. A few will try to live in bunkers and die there; even fewer will try to colonize space, and die there.

But hey, have fun looking forward to a world dominated by cockroaches, worms, and toxic algae.

The number of birds killed by destruction of habitat is exponentially greater than those killed by wind turbines.

Technically that would be orphaned wells. When a well is abandoned that means it’s either cemented off downhole or has a bridge plug set in the casing capped with 8 metres of cement, then the casings are cut off 2 metres below ground and capped with a steel plate.
