I did a bit of research and discovered that there is some validity to the story, and that the author, book, and DVD do exist. I thought this was a bluff story as the Edmonton Sun always pull an April Fools Joke every year. (I'm calling bluff on the DNA tracing of dog poop - really, does Dr. Jack Russel exist.)
None the less, the story does highlight the issue of exploiting young teens (if not tweens) by diminishing sex as a simple commodity for cash. I was gravely disappointed that the columnist, Andrew Hannon who is fairly truthful and credible, failed to quote a reliable source in Edmonton to confirm the existance of such parties. Would a quote from the city vice squad not be in order (sorry, they're too busy investigating Vish.)
Neither was there any evidence for or against such parties from the Sexual Assualt Centre. He futher quoted the police breaking up a ring, but did not say when or what school (okay, she declined to name)
I refuse to believe that such gatherings fail to have some sort of emotional effect on girls. Gee don't you feel like you're being used. Does it not appear that your're heading more into the line of prostitution. You can't go to some of these sorees and not have someone be more physically and emotionally demanding of desired services.
I can't believe that if this does exist, that the police are not taking more aggressive action to prosecute the perpetrator(s) and shut down the "trick pads." This is clearly child sexual ABUSE.
I do find it hard to believe that one girl says she can earn $500.00 for 15 minutes considering even some of the top talent in the city doesn't earn that much.
My advice for the parents is if your daughter is purchasing designer clothes and you know she does not have that kind of cash from her job and/or allowance, then start investigating and find out how she is getting the cash.
I know we all appreciate the companion of a beautiful female, but truly this kind of behavior is repulsive. (See the links for more information)

By the way, finally after 4 1/2 years, I have my first post. I'm sure there will be more.
