"Nutcase?" Draw your own conclusions.
This rant that [r] posted here is typical of what he would flood TBD with regularly:
As long as I was an active poster on TBD_Van everything was cookin' bigtime. Whenever I went away - so did the Board. Any other Board that I have been active on, during or since then has been doing equally great - public or private. Contrary to your fond wishes - I'm what made it happen. Still am. The record is right there in the archive and is clear as a bell for anybody to see for themselves: [r] posts something interesting, KR and Ulysses jump all over it with vulgar pointless insults, [r] slaughters both of them with devastating wit and wisdom yet has enough left over for any other dimbulbs who want some. Twenty times a week.
Anyway, I wanted to give you dubious dickheads an easy, unchallenged year to build up your cute little treehouse before I cut down the tree.
One of his first crusades was an effort to convince everyone that HIV did not cause AIDS and that the whole AIDS scare was nothing but a conspiracy of greed. He finally abandoned this tack in favour of presenting AIDS as affecting only homosexuals and intravenous drug users.
[r] saw himself as the white knight protector of all SPs and would launch an attack on any negative reviewer he disapproved of or any poster who dared to challenge his extreme opinions. He tried unsuccessfully to bully or intimidate his many detractors. He craved attention and approval, but his untractable hostility inevitably ended up attracting abuse. He was obsessed with trying to mould that board into his own image. "The Board" appeared to become his life.
He was first banned from TBD for refusing to heed the moderator's demand that he follow their posting rules. [r] was convinced that his presence and importance made him superior to everyone else, and that the rules simply shouldn't apply to him. On another occasion, he left on his own in an embarassing fit of self pity. Banned a second time, he returned as "delecto". In his struggle for acceptance, he still treats TBD like a younger sibling.
While on rare occasions he did have something of value to contribute, his pompous, paranoid, self-aggrandizing rants became more and more insufferable. Still are (See quote above). Things deteriorated to the point where most regular posters just got fed up and left. The majority came here. Now he views himself as the "saviour" of TBD. I kid you not - just this week he actually posted, "[resource] died to save your sins..." While I am no advocate of censorhip, the TBD experience has shown the cancer he could become to any community.
