wheeeeeee - Air Assault - wheeeeeeee

This week Bush broke from his usual long summer vacation at his Crawford, Texas, homestead for a press conference and meetings in Washington. The week before, while the Lebanon war was still raging, Bush invited Reuters correspondent Steve Holland to join him on an hour and a half bicycle ride in 100-degree heat. (Bush holds contests for his staff at Crawford to belong to his "100-Degree Club." When the temperature hits 100 degrees, they run three miles while the president rides his bike alongside them, urging them to run faster. "You can do it! Come on!" At the end, they receive T-shirts and pose for pictures with Bush.) "Bush does not ride quietly, constantly shouting out in his Texas twang the names of trees and geographic features and yelling at himself to pedal faster," Holland wrote. As Bush rode up a hill, leading an entourage of sweating Secret Service agents and the reporter, he shouted to no one in particular: "Air assault!"

Its not like the Americans had a lot to choose from. That dickhead Al Gore is no screaming hell either. John Kerry? lmao. Ralph Nader? rotflmao. Its funny how the majority of Americans actually supported Bush to go into Iraq and now that its gone sideways, its George's fault. Why even Hilary was for it.

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001.
It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security."

You're right -- they are all dickheads, and the Dems didn't have the guts to stand up while all the polls said that people supported the president (a situation brought about by deliberately inflaming fear).

But...how does that mean anyone should support the absolute worst dickhead of them all? Anyone at all would be better president....someone randomly selected from the street. One of those people wandering around Hollywood that Jay Leno interviews on his "jaywalking"..

Ah, another Bush apologist.

That majority you speak of – that supported Bush(co) going into Iraq - was it ever a majority? How much were people’s opinions (and your quote) shaped by that there “darn good intelligence” that’s been proven to not only be wrong, but proven to be purposely and maliciously crafted with intentions to deceive the American public (and Randy)… can we say “Downing Street Memos”?

The republicans will continue to wave the terror card at it’s sheeple – Bush will continue to demonstrate that, yes, he is an idiot.

Is George Bush an idiot? Yes.

Is that the worst part? No.

His ignorance is all the worse because it is willful. He thinks strength and wisdom are mutually exclusive and he values strength above all other virtues.

That's why it was implemented.

A lot of it. But people on both sides of Congress supported it.

Sheeple??

You will hve to agree a lot of the anti-terror measures have been effective. Since 9/11, there has been not one successful attack on Amercican soil.

Be that as it may, being an idiot is not an impeachable offense. We are ALL stuck with GWB until 2008.

Sheeple. A portmanteau of sheep and people, obviously. Generally used to refer to crowds who blindly follow what they're told, without so much as asking for justification or proof.

Pretty bold assertion given the lack of supporting data. I'd really like to see data on the exact effectiveness rate of various measures, otherwise it's all just bullshit and propaganda, designed to manipulate people into not thinking or questioning the actions of whatever leadership they're under. A lot of the security measures are just theatre.

I'll rephrase... the anti-terror measures have been effective at keeping the sheeple... well... cowed.

Colour me cynical.

It is difficult (impossible?) to prove a negative.

We have not been attacked by terrorists since 9/11.

Is it because Ws measure's worked? Who knows and how would you know for sure.

Should an attack occur (I am still of the opinion it is just a matter of time) would you declare Ws measures failed? If you answer yes, then to be fair you would have to credit his measures with a lack of an attack so far.

The term idiot is used a lot by both side. I heard many GOP refer to Bill Clinton as an idiot. I have used that term when speaking of Jimmy Carter.

The definition of the word has morphed when used in a political reference to mean someone with whom you disagree.

If you are an American, then please put forward a better plan going forward. No American is doing that, they are many great members of the official opposition, but that is all they are. I hear plans that include stopping wire taps on foreigners and pulling out of Iraq but I do not see how that makes us safer. My conclusion is the plan is leave them alone and they won’t bother us. Bill tried that approach it did not work.

If you are a Canadian, then I will listen to you PoV but in all honest it has very little influence on what will happen in US politics. You remind me of a fan sitting in the stands watching a kick boxing match. One guy (the US) was kicked in the head and fell to the ground. When he got up he kick his opponent in the groin, a low blow and a cheap shot. You declare the guy an idiot for the kick to the groin. From my point of view that guy over their holding his nuts, will not kick me in the head for a while.
