I know this has been discussed a few times but I can;t seem to find what I am looking for. How can you tell if the SP is a true independent. Whats the deal with the weebly web stuff? I only want to see true indys, is it wrong to ask the SP? Or can we compile a list as group of the true indys. My biggest worry with this game is that some one is being forced into this or is being controlled. Some times I read ads and it reads like some one else wrote the ad. IE "this girl is so sexy and ready for you" stuff like that. It would seem like someone else is advertising for them, does that mean there not indys. I know I am not new to this game but I have always wondered this.

Weebly is just a free site for uploading your own website. It does not mean that they are Indies working for an agency. I see a so called weebly girl who is totally independent.

http://www.weebly.com/

Have a look at it and see that it is easy to navigate and create your own web presence. It is not just for SP's either. Anybody who needs/wants a site can use it.

if that is your biggest worry, maybe this biz isn't for you

most sps are being forced out of dependency on drugs, shopping, bling, credit card debt, low paid jobs, over-extravagent lifestyle (and yes some by pimps as well) to suck our cocks for a living

very very few are in it because it is what they want to do

wth? Most sp's? You must know a lot of sp's to confidently appoint yourself expert and spokesman for us? What else can you tell us about "most" sp's? hmm. let's see, what other cliches are there. Oh, yah..we've all been abused as children, what we all really hope is to meet a man, rich if possible, so he can save us from this life of drugs, credit card debt, never have to take a low paying job but keep shopping, all the bling (bling...? really? really?) and this over-extravagAnt lifestyle. We can have lots of babies and live happily ever after....

I think it's best to keep quiet when one has no idea what he's talking about. And unless you've got some way of knowing every sp's, or even most sp's, reasons for doing this - you have no idea what you're talking about, my friend. Please spare us yet more negative, uninformed and harmful generalizations. Not only are you no expert but your statements are rude and offensive as well.

If you've got some unresolved anger with sp's or women, deal with it in some other way because it's getting a bit tiresome to read your constant disrespectful comments about us. Maybe you need to be reminded that's NOT what we're here for FYI. (We're here for the bling and over-extravagant lifestyle, remember?!.)

I agree with the fine Miss Bijou...
WTH?

Admittedly, there may be some SPs in the mix that may fit into the category VCC is mentioning, but I believe they may be the exception to the rule, so to speak.
It is very sad that some of our ladies end up under the iron fist of drugs, alcohol, and cruel pimps, etc & having to endure a life they would prefer not to be a part of.:(
Society as a whole must try to ease that suffering.

Moving on, there are also many SPs & MPAs that, for reasons that we may never know, WANT to be in this business that they have chosen, at least for this part of their lives. Alot advertise that they LOVE what they do, and for the most part, it shows. Those ladies are the ones that have become well respected and well reviewed on these boards. I, for 1, would like to thank these ladies for adding some measure of blissful momentary happiness to OUR lives.:)

Now, Back to the OP, Just because a certain lady may be using a weebly web page, doesn't mean they are part of an agency, and may in fact be truly independant SPs. I would imagine they use weebly because of it's apparent ease of use, update, and web access. Hopefully any other ladies that use weebly will chime in with their thoughts and/or reasons.

And now, back to my nap.

I happen to know several SP's fairly well and at least one of them sadly fits what VCC wrote much too closely. I absolutely hate to feel this way but I don't believe this situation is as rare as you think.

Incidentally, there is a thread running right now on another board that is discussing much of these same things. I have to remember which board I'm on to make sure I don't respond to a comment from one board on the other.

Agreed.

But maybe it ends up to involve where individual hobbyists go for their sessions. Perhaps a higher percentage of the sad stories involve some of the (seems that way) "revolving door" ads from SOME of the ladies that post to BP or Duttslist. And please remember I said SOME of the ladies that ad in there.

But you have to agree that there are more horror stories coming to light from those sites. Ladies that run rip off scams (cash & dash, etc) or where "the muscle" moves in somewhere along the line.

Maybe I just haven't felt the effects as much as some others, being that I tend to use the information, reputation, and reviews of the ladies on these boards as my guide. As mentioned, I fully acknowledge that the problem exists and I really do wish the problem could be allieviated.

Not trying to insult your integrity in any way jnewton, this is just my opinion.

No insult taken at all. I sometimes I wish I didn't know what I know. What I also do know is that some of these ladies are extremely good at hiding these issues when we visit them.

This is such a difficult topic, because I can't think of any surefire ways to determine if an escort is truly independent. You could suggest things like talking to her on the phone first to see if she answers her own phone and sets up her own dates. But then, there are ladies like me who truly are independent and just really prefer to set up dates via email. Also, answering her own phone doesn't necessarily mean anything if someone else is controlling her website, ads, service offerings, and workplace environment from behind the scenes.

I do know that as an independent escort, it is very frustrating to know that there are ladies out there who are represented as independent but who I know are being managed as part of a larger group.

I suppose you could try to find a well-reviewed independent escort that has been around for more than a year or two - I have noticed that a lot of these operations don't manage to last terribly long.

It's all very confusing and concerning. Best of luck with it!

Maybe I'm missing something, but is being independent really a selling point though?
Yes, it is a selling point. There are many men that want to make sure we are in control of our services offered, prices we charge, and they want all the money to go to us. They do not want to support pimps.

The "weebly girls" were a group of girls that were being represented as independents, but were not. All their ads looked the same, and I do believe that they were misled to believe if they didn't offer certain activities (ie bbbj, cim, etc) that they wouldn't make any money. They were put out of business by the police. There are many true independents that use weebly as well. You can tell if someone is truly independent, somewhat by her ad style.

I am still new to working as a full indy but I have been asked a few times over the phone if I am with any agencies or a full independent provider and I answer to the latter of course these days. I think it is comforting to know that I have a discreet location for people who dont like the door way set up's for agencies and that may be a selling point for some, or like Harmony said about knowing we are in control and truly want to be doing the services offered and that we support no one but ourselves.
