I'm not crazy about Boston Pizza

I love food whether it be a good old fashion greasy spoon breakfast to an expensive prime rib steak. Well, last night my friend invited all of us to celebrate his 42rd birthday at Boston Pizza.
I was excited and was looking forward to the food. I've heard a lot of positive reviews about Boston Pizza from my co workers at work.
Well I was so dissapointed! Well first off, the menu was well in my opinion somewhat limited. Judging by the prices I thought the food portions were at least decent size. So I ordered the $15.00 lasagna and to my surprise my lasagna was so fucking small, luckily there was one small garlic bread that came with it.
So after the party I was still hungry so I went to the Subway and picked up a sub sandwich. I was a happy man again!!!!

yeah i gotta agree for the most part

the service sucks

the help sucks

the menu sucks

when i go, i usually go with the chicken mushroom fettucine (its hard to fuck up canned alfredo sauce)

or the nachos with taco beef and extra cheese

BP sucks bad. Their pizza is the worst. The pasta awful. Maybe some of the sandwich type things are edible. I don't understand why so many people love this place.

If you want the best chain pizza, you should go to Pizza Hut. It is better than Boston Pizza. Despite its name, pizza at Boston Pizza is only 15% of sales.

Panagopolus and Dominoes do not use real cheese - they use processed cheese. I would not eat that crap if my life depended on it. Want proof, read a Panago brochure. They say Mozzarella and Cheddar. If it was cheese it would say Mozzarella cheese and Cheddar cheese.

My personally favorite chain pizza is Earls. If you want better pizza, you have to go to an independent, like Flying Wedge.

The bacon double cheeseburger pizza at BP's is pretty damn good....I can eat a whole medium one by myself....the rest are so-so.

Agree with David, BP's really isn't about pizza. I see more people eating the wings, salads, and sandwiches.

I don't doubt that you're right (partly because their pizza is mass-produced at a bazillion different locations, and partly because their pizza is just crap), but the fact that they say "Mozzarella and Cheddar" instead of "Mozzarella cheese and Cheddar cheese" is definitely not proof of anything...

little story for ya, like to here it...her it go:

I now boycott BP, haven't been there in over 10 yrs.

First off I don't know what they do to the pizza to fukk it up so bad but it looks like the vegeies on the thing don't get cooked into the pizza properly, they just kinda lay ontop 1/2 cooked. I didn't like it.

But the main reason is when I last went about 10yrs ago that particular night all the interac was down, so we had no way to pay for our meal. They suggested (more like told) to my friend to to leave his drivers license there and come back with cash. He said no-way am I leaving my DL here. No my fukkin fault interac down. I'll come back with cash but not leaving my DL. Not good enough for the pimply face git running the place.

There happened to be 2 cops eating there too that night so the manager ran over and squealed to them. The cops wanted my buddy to walk out to the middle of the restaurant and explain what went on while everyone else would have a front row seat to the happenings. He said no tell the cops to came to the back here so we can talk it over.

I guess after some fukkin around the cops who were now in a bad mood that there dinner was interrupted came to the back to sort shit out.

Funny thing is I can't remember what happened it was too long ago. But all I remember is all the fukkin around and how BP just seemed to act like pricks about it all and their pizza sucked anyways.

Flying Wedge is awesome! They use actual food, not simulated bacon bits crap. Boston Pizza is the McDs of pizza, okay in a pinch if there's absolutely nothing else around.

I gotta agree, as are a couple other Pizzas on the menu.

Until I find a comparison to Rose Bowl Pizza in Edmonton(is it still there? jasper and like 117th or something...), BP is my pizza joint of choice for sit down pizza.

Their pizza is 10 times worse than anything else on the menu!

Their fuck'n pizza sauce has an aftertaste that's gross as hell!

It is definitely proof if you really know the food industry and the various government regulations, particulary around how cheese must be labelled.

MY 2 slices worth

I agree most chains don't serve great pizza, hell even some of the frozen ones are better!! It's not relly independent but too small to be a huge franchise, but Flying Wedge has great pizza, their hawaiian version is nice. I dont know about the ones downtown, but the ones in the burbs only stay open till 9pm on weekdays, and 10pm on weekends. There's also good deals on whats left before closing, check it out.

As far as chains are concerned I actually like Ricky's (the outfit similar to Humpty's) thin crust.....not many choices but well prepared.

For a bigger menu I really like Nick's Steak House......great pies with the right amount of high quality toppings and cheese, home made dough and sauce. Yummy :)
