I used to work for a company called DPS Computers. We always used to have a VERY large number of dead keyboards in the back. Just try contacting a few distributors and see if they could just pull an "M" for you from their trash rack. (The vast majority of these were people turning in keyboards saying they don't work anymore and when we would pull off the keys, the board would be covered in Pepsi, beer, coffee, etc)

Got a little overzealous this morn vaccumming (houseboy's day off) & sucked the 'M' right off my keyboard. Dustbunny scavenger hunt is an option but was wondering if there's somewhere local i can buy a replacement key? It's an acer laptop.
Is digging in the bag outta the question? You should be able to find it by squeezing the bag and then just rip it where you feel the key. If it's a full one in the central vac, it should be towards the top.

i'd like to solve the puzzle now

Lots of interest in my dilemma! Well, i did roll up my sleeves & tried to find the proverbial needle in the haystack, alas, it was broken so I took JR's advice & just de-capped a key i didn't use & snapped it onto the 'm' button.

Bonus of this little situation..finally learned how to spell vacuum & vacuuming! (double u's only) :)

Thanks for everyone's help & if anyone's interested, i did find a site where you can buy replacement keys:

They used to be cool a few years ago. They had the free bench and the museum in the back. Now there's a hurtin vitamin store there and Cal's gone just the name remains. IMO the place sucks.
This is the last post of Hitrack, on the last thread...

Perhaps it should be enshrined somewhere.

Long live Hitrack!!

He is missed.
