So to add to the rebate thing, my car insurance is paid by my company and on top of it going from about $2500 down to $1850 for the year, I have now seen 3 rebates. One was around $50 back in April. Second went to the company in early May $220 ish. Just got a note from the accountant that another rebate arrived for $205. So that means that my car insurance literally rolled back to about what I was paying in the 90's. No idea if this is a one of and next year it will be a lot higher but so far ICBC is putting money where they're collective mouths are.

Been saving $6 a month on insurance after this. My life is so much better. This is a joke if you can't tell.
You must be a real shitty driver, I have received about $1000 rebated between my vehicles as well as discounted renewals. The new policy is rewarding drivers like me for accident free driving and punishing drivers like you that have accidents.

Have you read the policy/regulations before making this comment? The minimum disability benefit is up to 100k/year, and additional coverage can be purchased by those with higher income. If you are permanently disabled or unable to return to your previous job, ICBC will fund your retraining and help you find a job that you are able to perform after the injuries. If you are a stydent or homemaker, ICBC pays for your time off and/or cost of hiring care aids/cleaners to do what you would normally do if you were no injured. This is drastically better than the $300/week in disability cheque from 2 years ago.

It is not a win for those with permanent disabilities due to an accident that was not their fault. I know a few people in that boat right now fighting ICBC.
If they are truly permanently disabled, wouldn't the unlimited medical treatment, disability benefits until you are 65, unlimited persobal care attendant, free long term care be better than getting half a million, and giving 33% to the lawyer? If you need 24 hour care and have to rebuild your home due to permanent disability, the previous 150k/300k medical benefits can dry up in a few years, whereas with EC you will never exhaust the benefits.

I received a letter from ICBC stating I am saving about $75.00 a year, big deal

Anyways, Our rates are high because of morons that are on the roads, you know the speeders, tail gating.

For example, driving home on the highway 1 today, bunch of morons think they are in NASCAR, on each others rear bumper while doing 110km or more.

At that rate of speed, you can't stop in time being a few feet from the guy in front of you,

You need minimum safe stopping distance!!!!
