i hadn't actually thought of it that way Mistress Pandora.....but....i guess they could. i will focus and get it done...just as i will now get the blog entry done...just as i will...ummmm....vacate this area and finish my other nightly tasks.

1/8" thick is thinner than the rod in a barbeque grill. Anything less than 30mm is bendable by hand with the assistance of an improvised jig. Works best for angles if you can use pipe or conduit as a sleeve/handle.

And the "thing" i was making...i delivered to Mistress Pandora and it was used in a pretty cool photoshoot this very evening. i am, in fact, just home and extremely relieved that the band clamp shapes were NOT employed...but rather replaced with needle and ink. ...how was the whoring?....in any event, i settled on using stainless steel band clamps which i was able to bend into the shapes i required. So, yes, problem solved. Pipe worked perfectly as a bending jig.

Oh what the hell, it's all fun and the day it stops being so...is the day to find a new path.
i adore You Mistress...and i just have to add here...that is totally NOT my best side. If anybody recognizes me out of that picture...cool. I have a better side!...somewhere...or not. I like me 99.31459% of the time and that's pretty much the basis for anything further.

Sorry, I came upon this forum late in the day..
If you want a solid pivot that can be locked in place, at any rotational angle, then use the system that seems common at doms I have visited in Europe. Get a rear brake assembly from a car scrapyard, with handbrake cable parts. Mount the rear plate to whatever frame/wall you are using, mount the person carrying 'wheel' to the drum.
Then you can spin the wheel, and use the 'hand brake' to lock it at any point.
If you have a good welder you can make some very solid and inventive sytems this way.
On the subject of car parts, I once visited a mistress in Earls Court, London, UK who had a whole variety of ass fuck*ng machines made from car window wiper motors, mounted in a frame at the end of a bench.. Pop down to Ralph's Scrap yard in Scott Rd, Surrey, you'll walk away with no end of 'useful' parts!
And, 1/8" stainless steel rod = Yacht rigging. Pop into a yacht chandler, they too have an interesting assortment of stainless, polished parts, turnbuckles, tie-downs, etc...
