The "What's in your CD Player?" thread got me wondering, how do you find your new music? I don't listen to the radio anymore, mostly because Vancouver has probably some of the worst radio stations / personalities out there.

(I don't want to hear another Nickelback / Nirvana song in this lifetime. And the Soft Rock or Jack FM stations are like a slow Root Canal procedure.)

So that means my exposure to new music is pretty much limited to friends, the internet (Last.FM) or television (the Wedge on MM). Consequently I've really been listening to the same music since Y2K.

So how do you find you new music? Any sites worth checking out?

Other 1 is Music Downloads

Other 2 is just that... Other Sources

Before I moved here, a lot of my friends in montreal were involved in music some way or another.. It was great, I never really had to go out looking for new music because they were all into different stuff. I used to give 5 blanks cd's to a friend of mine every couple months and tell him to burn whatever he thought I would like. I got some awesome stuff from him.

Now.. since I've been here I can't say any of my friends in Vancouver listen to anything I don't already know so I usually read the cd reviews from magazines and online too for ideas and when I find reviews of stuff I think I may like, I download a couple songs.. Some turn out to be crap but I've found some great stuff also.

So which category does that fall into?
And how do I vote??
