Ya you could blame it on all the horned out guys that send a message to every women they can... so when the plain jane girl opens her mailbox to find hundreds of messages she suddenly thinks she the next supermodel. Thats why they start to get picky.. its all about supply and demand. I think that most of women who are on there for a long time become delusional about the kind of guy they deserve... hence the profiles with the page long demands..haha.

damn, chill guys. In a city like vancouver where it's hard to meet people (people just don't seem to open up easily). Admiring a girl in public and flirting seems like harassment to some of these Vancouver women, POF isn't a bad idea. Just a channel of communication and connection

Been on and off Pof a few years and for the most part it's been positive. Met some hot chicks who were freakin smart and normal. Had a few relationships and made some good friends. Just be real and have your shit together, real women can see right thru bullshit and don't want their time wasted

Full disclosure - I have never had a date from POF. Not from lack of trying. Closest I came was to a woman that cancelled saying she couldn't meet until next weekend, rescheduled for the next day and then cancelled 1 hour before meeting- yep, she came across as flaky. Because it's free, it seems it's just too much of a place to browse humanity. I believe the guys getting dates from there are fit, skinny or rich (.. or really excellent liars). Average men don't cut it.
I will say, I've had a lot of dates from Lava Life. I think because the women have to pay for creds, just like the guys separates the window shoppers from someone who wants to connect.
However, this is where I see women put their weight as 'a handful' when in fact, their body type is 'queen or king size' (to quote site terminology).
Over the last 10 years, the women seemed to have become quite a bit heavier and they expect the guys to be skinnier than them (and I am). This is the ego part that these sites tend to inflate.
Someone said that you won't find 10's there. It's true. For me, when I just want to have sex- the last two were morbidly obese and their hygiene was less than to be desired (pissy pussy, I call it.).
I've found it very depressing and would rather see a service provider.
