...finished taxes...not just for this year....but that's a different story.

Seems I will owe big....but I've heard that late filing carries a 'double it' fine...so...let's say we are now into 5 digits....fuck.

Why am I posting this here? I have no idea. I don't want tax advice. I'm tucking all returns under my arm tomorrow....heading down to the local accountant...and turning it all over. Please deal with this.

Does Revenue Canada accept....geee, sorry, I really meant to do X?...as a defence? Of course they don't. I will keep it all squeaky clean and I'm delighted to pay taxes. Consider the alternative.

If I currently have no money, that's hardly the tax man's fault. It's my own inability to budget/plan.

fuck...you would say that....and me with a dual citizenship and an ex living in st. louis.

I've thought about the run and hide deal...rejected that. I'll take the ball squeeze and stay here near to my babies. I'm just hoping the accountant will be able to moderate the squeeze....if he/she's any good....he/she will tell me if i need legal counsel.

lol...!!!!....that's cool blaze! and good for you. I'm happy.

I'm not so much talking about what I may have or may not have cleared...more what I owe. I've never been much for cheating so I like to keep those books squeaky clean....and that never fails to cost me.

I'm fucking broke man.

they just want what's owed to them.
that's my experience anyway, i was audited several years ago and they didn't go for any penalties, just what was due.
at least that's what it was for me -- small peanuts for them.

cool advice...and thanks.

That's my impression also....I just have read stories about peeps going to jail for tax evasion...and I'm thinking...oh shit...I'm not evading....I'm just late to file...errrrr....very late.

But...I know I'm not alone on that...and I will be straight up with them...so no..."kaboom!!!!"....lol. next post will come from whatever prison they nominate.

I have seen ads for...

Amnesty that help you deal with back taxes and they can help you get out of extra interest and so on. I have never heard of the doubling thing but they can sure get you on interest.

When you get to 6 figure income tax bills like mine then you'll understand why lefties need to be kept out of government.

Give it a friggin' break. I don't see the "righties" reducing your taxes -- the feds are on the biggest spending spree ever.

And if you can brag about making that much money, you're not likely to get a lot of sympathy about your tax bill.

I love how the testosterone comes out eventually. No slam, I'm guilty of it from time to time also, I admit this freely. A world without testosterone would be...well...underpopulated?

For any who care, and for those that don't....my new favourite accountant laughed at my situation. Easy peasy says she. So, I do love putting my faith into the hands of competence and I am just...so...fucking...relieved...I can barely speak.

Which, I am sure, many of you will find to be a relief.

Sad part is, the wife got a hold of all of it, so I don't even get a chance to have any fun!
If I was still doing the books I would be knee-deep in poon this week!!!

all I know for sure...well, that's a lie, I'm stupid enough to think I know a lot of things for sure....is that bookkeeping needs be kept impeccably honest. I can't sleep thinking/wondering if "that" might come back to haunt me. Well, that's a lie too. I'm sure I could. I just like to keep that part simple. No wonder I'm broke. Aggressive accounting and dishonesty are entirely dissimilar....so I'm hoping....

Knee deep?....geeeze....

You don't "owe" them anything!

The taxation in this country is off the fukkiin hook & you people or is that zombies, just fork over your money without ever stopping to think how our Gubment is wasting it by the truckloads on a failed medical system that is so corrupt it makes the Mexico government look like a model for democracy.

STAND up for Christ sakes & start voting in some people that will change the Welfare state were in!

I love that notion......

...but, on a number of fronts I disagree.

I enjoy paying my taxes....I trust this government (whichever one it happens to be) to spend it to the best of their ability. Being an elected servant sucks....late night phone calls...the cat in the next door yard is katerwalling...no thanks.

We live in the most amazing country....we are the envy of many. We have free discourse....free elections....free speech....

Many will disagree with that...but that's just conspiracy theoretics or my own inability to think things through. Either way, I'm a happy Canadian.
