Hockey Overtime

I hate sudden death overtime. I can't stand the pressure and I figure if a team can't get the job done in 60 minutes they should just go home. I have already invested 3 hours in a game where neither team wanted it bad enough.

I have a couple of ideas:

Pull the Goalies They have done such a damn fine job of preventing their teams from losing they deserve a break (and a bonu$). Play 6 on 6 hockey and let's see what skills the rest of the team really has.

OR

Play out the Period Regardless of who scores first, finish the period. I guess it could end in a tie again but then pull the goalies for the next period.

I realize there are different rules for the regular season but with the way the playoffs are designed now I figure a one goal sudden death victory in overtime isn't real evidence of a superior team.

What is this shit with so many penalties continuing on in the playoffs?

I friggin hate it!

Before this no hit league crap, you hardly ever saw penalties in playoff
hockey, sure during the regular season but we all looked forward to non
stop end to end action, (now don't get funny with me on that one GF! ),
without hardly seeing a whistle blown and the players were for the most
part allowed to decide the outcome.

I mean really, when before this year have we seen 6 on 3's what a
friggin crock of shit that is. Like Don Cherry used to say, let them
play the game !!

There is one exception I can think of to this penalty thing is when the nucks played the rangers for the final !

Let em kick each other's ass's....... Right from the first period. I hate Edmonton, but hockey was hockey back when Cement Head was protecting that sissy little bitch Gretzky. When Domi was feeding somebody a can of whoop ass, just because he looked at em' funny. Pretty soon, the NHL will force players to wear reflective vests while on the ice, so other players can see them, and not run into them.
The game has gone to shit! You know the game has gone to shit, when the Edmonton Oilers can make it to the playoffs. Something is just wrong there.

Domi is the biggest goof the NHL has had in a long time. The only reason he gets any attention is from playing in Toronto and we all know no one in that organization has any brains. Just like all their fans!

The game has gone to shit! You know the game has gone to shit, when the Edmonton Oilers can make it to the playoffs. Something is just wrong there.

Nahhhh I'm a Wings fan.... Always have been always will be. I just don't like Edmonton. I would have rather seen Vancouver or Detroit win.
And... To each their own...... Domi is Domi.... Your Rain Man, and yes... K-Mart sucks! But again, thats just another opinion. Your entitled to it.

the bottom line problem with hockey is the season is too long ...

its june 1 and the playoffs are not even over yet! in fact, the SC final hasn't even started yet!

Should be:

6 pre-season games ... good enough to get the rust out.
60 regular season games ... guys will have more energy left for
the all important play-offs.

The play-off need to be changed from this lacklustre 'East-West'
crapola
to the best 16 teams (by points) play to win the Stanley Cup.

And rather than having #1 meet #8, they should do a round-robin (like the Memorial Cup) and let the teams duke it out until the 4 best are standing, let them go at it for a seven-game series and the last two play seven games to decide who gets the cup!

No one can tell me that watching the nucks play the minisorta-mild for 10 fucking games was worth anything ... that's an easy 10 games to cut out of anyone's schedule.
