It seems like this hobby is getting to be too much of a hassle now. Between CLASS videotaping inside MP's and LE arresting owners, and human trafficking charges, I have no desire to go to any MP anytime soon. Anyone who went to sachi must be kicking themselves right now.

I would never for a second trust CL given the sheer volume of stories about sketchy people trying to scam guys. Plus I saw an episode of some police reality show on TV where they used websites like CL to set up sting operations. Surely someone working for the police here saw the same episode.

Even with the amount of attention PERB is garnering from being mentioned on CTV and being put on CLASS's website, it makes me wonder how many members are actually LE affiliated and just using this site to gather intel.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it too much, your chances of being in a licensed MP while its being raided are low, human trafficing will obviously occur MORE if the trade is not regulated, and thankfully it is so these problems can be rooted out.

Imagine how much worse it would be if it were not regulated!

If you are really concerned about human trafficing [ie the human cost] stay away from AMPs or anywhere else you might perceive your morals to be questioned.

PERBs popularity is a non-issue, we are all consenting adults talking about legit businesses, we have not done anything wrong.

CLASS is a non issue, they think they are helping girls and they are wrong, the girls are quite empowered in the relationships with their clients. if they think our politicians and LE haven't heard this before then lol.

Do we actually know it was sachi? i just heard about it on CBC radio today and they did not name names.

edit: yup, it was them: hxxp://www.edmontonsun.com/news/columnists/andrew_hanon/2009/09/11/10834036-sun.html

I am tempted to re-use the "beating a dead horse" gif yet again but I'll be nice this time.

Yes, it was a matter of time until one of the micros got busted for sexual slavery because this seems to happen once a month in Vancouver. And Vish shouldn't have been using his driving school to recruit girls. But the top-end MPs likely won't get busted - the most they'll get tagged for is a fine for licensing issues. Why is that?

I've been visiting MPs and escorts for nearly 10 years, and nobody from 5-0 has kicked down the door on me while in mid-coitus or any other time. Why is that?

5-0 has long been aware of this board and they've long had the means to trace posts to real people. Yet none of the long-time PERBerts like myself, trawler, jim and others have been hauled into court with all our reviews used as evidence against us. Why is that?

Why isn't any of the above happening? The authorities will continue to look the other way and allow the MPs and escort agencies to operate because:
a) they keep the girls and johns off the street and into safer environments
b) the license fees and business taxes make lots of coin for the city - and there's nothing wrong with that concept because the potholes need to be plugged and the LRT expanded
c) many authority figures themselves are pooners
d) they are legal as long as discussion of services rendered are done behind closed doors.

So go ahead and poon away to your hearts content. But be careful and use your common sense.

All sound advice, but I wasn't really looking for any advice. I'm not afraid of LE or anything like that, I guess I'm just sounding off on how the news all seems to be pretty depressing given that this is supposed to be a "hobby."

Vienna once commented to me "this business isn't what it used to be", and those were in much better times. I wasn't sure what she meant then, but I think I understand now.

If you have a fav at a MP or use incall or outcall with a fav, the discussion about services and costs shoudn't have to happen anymore. That would have been determined a long time ago. Therefore nothing is illegal. If I go for a massage, hand over a sealed envelop and later end up having sex, nothing was ever negotiated, in public or behind closed doors.

Hell if the sealed envelop had money in it, that could be payment for a previous loan or something.;)

So find someone you enjoy, and keep cool.

The Illegal part of your scenario is to visit a MP or incall. They are bawdy houses & it is illegal to be found in one, whether it is licesed by the city or not.

Thanks PeaceGuy. My question is, how would LE go about proving it was a bawdy house, if the owner does not "know" what is going on in the rooms per say and the activity is consensual with the massuese, with little or no proof the activiy is being paid for other than for time to get a massage?

I am speaking of licenced MP's in this scenario.

Thanks
