I only want to comment that having heard the historic making speech by the PM that no
one has commented on it yet. I mean it's history in the making and no one mentions it?

Hard to believe. Anyway, there it is.

Is that the speech and apologey on changing the law on gay sex and over turning the convictions of those convicted under that law .
I missed it .

Many good people had their lives ruined because they were gay.
Turing was literally hounded to death, along with many others.
This should not be written off as political correctness, it is a long overdue apology.

I can't see anyone posting here trying to claim this is an example of PC going mad, though there is a huge amount of that going on, I don't see that here.

I'm not too sure how that is relevant to Canada give Turning was British, and has received a royal pardon and direct apology from the - then - PM.

I like to think that the lack of commentary here suggests that most people just accept that the oppression of people because of their sexual orientation was wrong, and there's nothing very controversial about the apology.

Bone up on your Canadian history.
It was going on here too.
All that I referred to above, jailing homosexuals, committing them to insane asylums, hounding them to death, it all happened here.
The RCMP had a special unit under their security service that hunted gays.
I am surprised you are unaware.

Exactly, but because of the scope of such a history making speech I just thought more people would have
applauded the PM and said something like: Good on Canada for honouring those who were oppressed.
Or something like that at least.

maybe it's the messenger

just watching his politically correct tears in news clips, sums him up

I fast forward when he's speaking on the news, or mute it

he's nauseating, vacuous, shallow, lacking in character

he lies, doesn't keep his word, has no ethics, which he's been showing since before he was PM

I read or hear about his actions in the media, from several outlets, left/middle/right
rather than listen to him actually speak

but in the end, he's utterly a waste of skin

he's doing nothing but give our money away to others, has since the first days, when he's not trying to bribe everyone else with borrowed money

and is apologizing all over the place for our supposed guilt of simple existence

so even when something that might be of note comes up, like this, which is actually fairly recent

I don't really care when it's coming out of a useless fucking piece of shit like him

cause I can't stand listening to the verbal diarrhea he spews

he has no substance

he has no credibility

and the office doesn't change that

just like Trump, he's incompetent

sad, but I tune out when he speaks

he's setting in motion actions that are going to hurt our Country far more than his useless old man did, which we'll never be able to fix, cause once you give a inch, it's hard to go back six

we're going to be far poorer in the long run, the longer he's there

he's just sad

phony

and unfortunately our head of gov't

Geez man, just tell us how you feel..

I like him, he is doing a lot to catch up on what has been neglected far to long. Not a die hard Liberal, but he strikes me as being what I at least believe it means to be a Canadian.

so point out all these great wonderful things

the infrastructure lie?

the tax decrease paying for itself?

the Paris agreement, he can't keep?

the peace keeping lie?

the BS about the military spending? veterans benefits?

the middle class lie?

the aboriginal file?

smoke and mirrors, crooked accounting, typical Liberal policy

could keep going on, but please

list all his positives, like putting us into debt to pay people with kids making up to 100,000+ with tax free money, cause they have kids

handing out money in the Billions to other nations, while we have issues here that could use it, like the Natives (*water, housing, education)

putting us into debt like no other leader has, even his crooked father who started us down the hole we'll never get out of, at a rate never seen before

even when we aren't, nor haven't been in since he was elected

yah! great times!

as long as your part of the welfare, er bribe, crowd he likes, lol

he's Harper lite, with better hair

Farzana Hassan summed up his shtick today in her article in the first line

"We get it! Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is a noble soul who will go to any length to appease, mollify and console marginalized groups."

or at least in his noble mind, he believes he's doing something, but his actions, record don't support that delusion

Here is my issue with Justin Trudeau. Rather than “Prime Minister” his title should be “Drama Queen in Chief”. How many times has the former drama teacher shed tears in the House of Commons? I’m pretty sure this apology isn’t the first he has gotten teary eyed. And, if his feelings are genuine, I really question whether he has the emotional strength to lead this country in a real time of crisis, or whether he will just break down and cry on Sophie’s shoulder.

I think that some us thought you were being sarcastic since you referred to him as Justine Trudeau, as if to imply he was a wimpy girl. Just a spelling mistake on your part?

Yup they are liberals in name only. Just harper lights in sheeps clothing.
Actually no, those child tax credits that people receive every month IS taxable income. Not that it will help
lower the debt by much.

Yes, sarcasm implied. For explanation just read polevaulters post above. I agree with him.

I suspect that Trudeau is really tough as nails, just as his father was. The teary metro-man is a public facade. However, to me a tough Trudeau is scarier than a teary one.

My grandparents , which came to Canada in 1908 , had their Saskatchewan farm confiscated by the Canadian Govt when Canadians were worried the Russian Rev would happen here. They and all Ukranians received an apology with Harper but
did not ask for compensation. Certainly what happenned to the Gay community was very sad and wrong however that was a long time ago. Lets make the apology but not have to force tax payors to pay for wrongs that previous generations did.
The guilt industry is a slippery and very dangerous slope.

This is how scary, and why I've never liked Liberals to this day. It's about the middle finger Pierre threw
out at protesters known as the Salmon Arm salute!! LOL!! Good on those protesters!!
What an ASSHOLE!!

Here's where a student in a gymnasium full of kids asks Justin about why his father gave
the finger to the protesters in Salmon Arm.

Classic!! Although you can't see it Pierre, I got one pointing right back at you too ASSHOLE!!:D

you should read this http://nationalpost.com/opinion/ter...gerously-wrong-on-china-they-have-always-been

this is what you think Canada should be about, this what he needs to catch up on? finish what his commie dad didn't?

sucking up to a dictatorship, which he has repeately expressed in his words/actions

it's one thing to tolerate them, it's another to try so hard to suck their cock, just for an extra buck

look at what China's doing in the South China Sea, Asia, Africa

all while a clown is in charge in the US, not that the previous poser did anything in 8 yrs to speak of or the one before him

we have a child in charge here too, while dictators are stepping up and filling the power void

we need a leader not a pretty figurehead, who's only out for himself

(look at how he acted while he was an MP, when he wasn't lying out of his ass and face in either french or english, depending on where he was/who he was talking too, still doing it, he was sucking on the tit of the public, not showing up in the House, cause he was too busy on his speaking tour, taking even more public money from org's receiving public money, and for what? talking, the job he was already making a top 5% income for, that tells you all you need to know about his character/ethics/priorities, he's about himself, his image, his own delusions about who he is, what he's doing)

the sooner he's back on his speaking tour the better off Canada will be

What exactly could Justin Trudeau do to influence China?

China doesn't give a shit what anyone else thinks.

And what about you, overdone? Do you boycott all Chinese products? Pretty hard to do.
Are you going to pay two or three times as much for Canadian made consumer goods?

If you want to look at the real enablers of China look at the eager shopaholics buying up everything China makes. China has power because they have money.

What kind of leverage does anyone have against China?
Money.
Stop buying their products.
