Neil Diamond - It Never Rains In Southern California
Written by Al Hammond
Released by Neil Diamond in 1973

Got on board a west bound seven forty seven
don't think before deciding what to do
Oh, their talk of oppotunities, T.V., breaks and movies
rang true, sure rang true

Seems it never rains in Southern California
seems I`ve often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California, but girl don't they
warn ya, it pours, man it pours
Out of word, I'm out of my head, out of self respect,
I'm out of bread, I'm underclothed, I'm underfed
I wanna go home
It never rains in California, but girl don't they
warn ya, it pours, man it pours

Will you tell the folks back home I nearly made it
had offers but don't know which one to take
Please don't tell them how you found me, don't tell them
how you found me
gimme a break, give me a break

Seems it never rains in Southern California
seems I`ve often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California, but girl don't they
warn ya, it pours, man it pours
Out of word, I'm out of my head, out of self respect,
I'm out of bread, I'm underclothed, I'm underfed
I wanna go home
It never rains in California, but girl don't they
warn ya, it pours, man it pours...

In a nice wet pussy!
I had to reply to this thread.

The song "It never rains in Southern California" was written and performed by Albert Hammond in 1972.

It was later covered by Tony! Toni! Toné! in 1990, as accurately mentioned by hitrack.

But it was never sung by Neil Diamond, or The Mamas & The Papas as listed on Limewire...

The familiar stick-in-your-head version is the original, still played occasionally on pop radio.

Albert Hammond also wrote other big hits with Mike Hazlewood - "Little Arrows" by Leapy Lee, "Gimme Dat Ding" by the Pipkins and "The Air That I Breathe" by the Hollies.
He also charted with "I'm A Train" in 1974.

Albert Hammond sang it first around 1972, I think.
Yes, I was in high school then......

Is it his son that's in The Strokes?

..."Got on board a west bound 747........" still remember the lyrics
