Virginia won the challenge.. shes got an untouchable pallet as Heather said.. but Heather was well rounded and more passionate in my opinion.

I didn't watch until the final three episodes but found it entertaining. I felt like the way things were progressing that Virginia was going to win and I would have agreed with that outcome. I think her shortcomings would be easier to overcome than Heather's. Her only flaw was that she was a little too timid running the kitchen. She just needed to show a little more hustle and be harder on her underlings. Heather is/was a little too rough around the edges for my liking, especially in a new, upscale casino restaurant and her menu planning was weak. Also, as the lovely Miss Laura Lea pointed out, Virginias' pallet (sp?) is bang on and is something that cannot really be taught; as Ramsay said it is a gift. Virginias' restaurant renovation was also much better than Heather's. I also don't see how a 25 year old has the experience and credibility to run a four or five star restaurant. Entertaining nonetheless however.

Was really glad to see Heather win the competition. Virginia was hopeless in the kitchen during service in every episode and couldn't run a kitchen to save her life.

As for her picks, even Gordon was shaking his head, Virginia managed to pick just about all the worst cooks and none of them wanted to work for her so she ended up trying to bribe them into performing!! Her people skills sucked.

One thing about Viriginia, she did have some nice big tits. In earlier shows when her team won challenges, they showed her in a bikini a few times and boy did she have a nice rack. Reminded me a lot of BobbiVan's chest! :D

her best line (and leadership) was when she told her crew that she picked the weakest for a reason. She has a better palette, but she should, she was one of the few that didn't smoke. I think the show would have been better if they showed how they actually made each dish and stuff, i would have like to see what goes into the food

I thought it was one of the better reality shows that I have seen.

I didn't see Virginia in the bikini but wish I did!

I would have picked Virginia, thought she was better overall and over time.

Interesting to note - there are 9 different restaurants in the Red Rock Casino, I wonder which one Heather got to run?

This was posted in a Hell's Kitchen forum today:

Chef Heather has been offered the position of Executive Chef in the Terra Rossa restaurant at the Red Rock resort
As of this date, she has NOT officially accepted the position !!

(My source was Jackie Gonzalez at the Red Rock Casino)

Good recap site.

I found that most of the earlier episodes (with the contests usually won by the red team) were boring, and Chef Ramsey's lavish rewards weren't justified considering how bad both teams performance was in the area of completing dinner service.
Fox also uses too much time repeating what we just saw before commercial breaks. I'll watch it again, but I much prefer Amazing Race as an example of tight well-made reality TV.

Have only caught one episode of Hell's Kitchen and didn't do it for me. Too predictable with the reality TV/survivor themes.

I do however really enjoy watching Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares......fuck does he has fuck a lot in that show! Not sure if all that goes on is authentic but it does seem very real and that the changes he suggests make sense.

Is it just me or did anyone else noticed that this season they seem to have casted a bunch of donkeys (in Ramsay's words) in an effort to increase the "idiot" factor. For me, this took away some of the cooking. Overall I enjoyed it a little less than Season 1. Heather was the deserving winner though (crying or not). She was pratically a mini kitchen nazi for the finale. Might even pay her a visit at the Red Rock Resort.

Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares is the show to watch if you want to get to know Ramsay better. You will discover that he is just playing himself on Hell's kitchen as opposed to him acting as some critics have accused him of. He does swear and belittle his victims a lot but what the hell are you supposed to say to idiots who have mastered the art of the microwave trying to pass as chefs? Or when the prison chef guy tried to serve undercooked chicken.

1,000 finally.

Exactly.....its very different than that other British asshat Simon Cowell who berates for no good reason. If Ramsay calls someone a lazy fucker then chances are they're a lazy fucker.

Hell's Kitchen is really giving the culinary profession a bad vibe. Think of all those young culinary students who watch the show religiously and think it is okay to beat on people like Gordon Ramsay. :( What kind of period are we living in? Is Escoffier still around?? Screaming and scolding your brigate no longer works in modern kitchens. The chef should lead by example and demonstrate his ability to take control of adverse situation.
I agree that Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare is a much better show. At least he is giving advice to failing restaurateurs that is actually applicable in the real world. Hell's Kitchen is purely TV entertainment.

I know a chef who actually know Gordon Ramsay on a personal level and he is nothing like what he is portraying on Hell's Kitchen. Ramsay is not the most talented chef, but he is definitely a damn good one and he is a even better businessman.
