Just a hunch, but yeah I imagine exclusivity plays a big roll beyond $500/hour in the Canadian marketplace. Other factors to include could be how much availability does the SP have and what level of clientele does she want to see with that time. Looks and body type are subjective, but if an SP has a clean diet/lifestyle, is in the gym 3 hours a day, reads 2-3 books a week and has completed or is working towards an advanced education, then one can reasonably expect to pay more for her services, IMO. Higher personal upkeep, clothing, advertising and incall costs are also to be expected and justly reflected in hourly rates. I enjoy the company of $220/h SP, but the $3-400/h (my rate ceiling so far) SPs are like 5 times as memorable, and it’s not all looks or “hotness.”

Absolutely. You get what you pay for. I work in the entertainment industry and we pay individual performers from $500 up to $5000.

I can assure you that the ones we pay $5000 a gig are that much better than the $500 performers. You get what you pay for.

On the other hand there are a few $500 performers who are worth far more than we pay them. The difference is that some perform because they enjoy what they do and the money is secondary. Those are the gems.
