sports casters say it's 5 years late
but I still want to see Pacman win.
and win or lose, it's a big payday for Mayweather.
I'd love to see Pacquiao win but Mayweather is so good defensively.I could see this being a letdown, with Floyd on his bike backpedaling,jabbing&counter-punching
Manny chasing him.

It takes 2 to make a great fight&mixing it just is not Mayweather's style.

WOW! That's quite unexpected isn't it? Is it the injury that sidelined him this season that has ended his career? (I could click, but I'm not that good a multitasker...)
the timing was unusual,mid-March, but the announcement wasn't really surprising, given the issues he's had with his back, going back even to his MVP seasons.

for what he's done for basketball in Canada, a trophy s/b named after him.

Otherwise....I'm having a hard time recalling another team as unpredictable as this edition of the Canucks.
They beat teams you think they'll lose to,eg Penguins,Rangers,Islanders,Kings,Ducks,Wings.....and they lose to teams you think they'll beat,egDevils,Sabres,Jackets, etc.
Scary team to bet on....and scary team to bet against.

playoff races in full swing, with a bit of luck we could see 5 Cdn cities in the dance.of course,it's that close,we might only see one, the Habs.
if there's a clear team-to-beat in either conference I don't know who that is?
maybe we're getting closer to parity?not pure parity,as there are bottom-feeders in the McDavid Sweepstakes, but is ther much to choose between teams in the upper echelon, say the top 10?
playoffs s/b fun.

Dallas Cowboys taking heat for signing Hardy, who comes with considerable baggage.I think charges of domestic violence were dropped when his girl-friend/fiancée(?)refused to testify.
Apparently she was paid off to drop the charges.

the NFL hasn't been exactly abundant with role models the past 12 months or so.

new found respect for Stevie Stamkos duking it out with Marchand.

NHL playoffs just around the corner and have been enjoying
March Madness. it's a lot to watch and amazed at the skills of these kids.
NBA is in good hands.

and how about those Canucks beating the Kings? no complaints there.

I have to correct myself re playoff possibilities of Cdn-based teams...looking at the western conference standings this am,the only team with a good chance of cracking the top 8
would be the LA Kings.the rest are too far back with not enough games to make up points.

I think a worst-case scenario would see 2 of Van,Cal&Wpg get in. let's hope for all 3.
In the East,red-hot Sens now in playoff pos'n,but barely.hope they keep the fire lit.

the Canucks continue to confound.....eg beat teams above them in the standings IN THEIR ARENAS,eg Penguins,Rangers,Islanders,Wings, and lose to teams below them AT HOME
in some cases with teams supposedly tired from playing the night before,eg Av,Stars

so,with this inconsistent unpredictability should we be surprised if the 'Nucks torch the opposition on the upcoming road trip?Uh, yes,we should.

where Canucks' fans can take hope is the Flames are on an equally challenging road swing.I'm predicting both teams have a rough trip, leaving the 'Nucks still
in front of Calgary and making the playoffs behind LA

it'll give the faithful 2 home playoff games to watch LA dismantle the locals.

quick playoff exist, yes, but a major improvement from last year.

in the meantime, GO HABS GO!!

In Lust Mostly
Toronto Maple Leafs fire GM Dave Nonis and interim head coach Peter Horachek.
They really do need a serious house cleaning there including buying out some of those overpaid deadbeats. Crazy contracts some of them are holding make it next to impossible to do it though.

great finish to the season, right down to Game 82 much was undecided.

happy I was so wrong re the Kings.

also happy I was wrong when I thought Ottawa started too late, and that either Cal or Wpg would miss out.

glass half-full or half empty.....with Mtl-Ott and Van-Cal 2 Cdn teams get ko'd early....or.....2Cdn teams guaranteed into the 2nd round.

I keep wondering when the Oilers are going to jell with all the top pics.great young forwards but help on the back end is needed.

I'd expected lots of series to go the full 7,but Ott&Wpg are at 0-3,we'll see how 'Nucks,Preds,Pens, etc. do to even their respective series.

Tim Tebow signs with Phila. Eagles...don't get that one.

Edmonton Oilers hire Peter Chiarelli to oversee their hockey operations. Kevin Lowe will still remain with the Oilers in a role on the business side of the club. (source- TSN)
