I will be travelling to Vancouver more frequently and have seen people come off the Skytain in Yaletown with their golf clubs. For someone who will not have a vehicle, what golf courses are close to downtown or within easy access of the Skytrain, I am looking for courses that is more than a pitch and putt, prefer a walking course, my index is 12 so something that would be a bit challenging. Any suggestions for public or semi public courses would be appreciated, depending on the equity or initiation fees for privates courses, I may consider looking at them as well but probably cannot justify the cost right now, thanks

Hey scooner, I do not golf personally. But I do see golfers in my neighbourhood walking to the Central Park area of Willingdon and Imperial. I believe there is a public course in or around Central Park which is a short walk from Patterson station.

Hope that helps and have fun!!

Langara is closest full course to Yaletown and about a 2 block walk from the skytrain station. Its a level up from an executive course but it is fairly flat and
not as difficult as those other courses mentioned. QE pitch and putt is also close to a station on the Canada line (king edward)
Probably closest and the one were people with clubs getting offf the station have gone to maybe...

I have nothing to add to this thread....but I did lay a good solid "smasharoonie" drive today that was good for 290 yards and straight up the middle....best drive of my life actually...left me with a soft wedge shot into the green..nothing like a good ol smasharoonie drive to drive up the adrenalin and give hope :clap2:

just my two cents its not as easy to get to but if your are a fan of golf you should try and get a round in on one of your trips to Westwood Plateau in Coq you could take the skytrain to braid station and the 169(i believe) to coq station and a 5 min taxi to the course.

I do need to be able to use the Skytrain, I thought there might have been a few close to the Richmond line. The Mayfair Lakes course looks interesting, thanks. I recall reading something in the paper earlier in the year and that was Vancouver was thinking about offering free golf on the muni courses during the winter months to try and generate a bit more revenue to offset fixed operating expenses irregardless of play or not, did that get approved?
