I thought she looked familiar. Never saw her in person but she looked familiar from ads - very sad news.

Another senseless death is a society where a human life seems to have no value any more.
Especailly tragic when one learns she leaves behind 4 children that will not have their Mom around anymore.
Several years ago the mayor of Toronto made the statement that his police officers have more important things to do than waste there time trying to turn a consentual act between two adults into a crime, while the winnipeg LE has been obsessed with doing just that Winnipeg has reclaimed the dubious honor of becoming the murder capital of Canada , maybe someday they will wake up and realize these ladies need protection not harrassment

Was this murder the result of her activities as a sex worker?
We don't know. She was found murdered in her home. by the constuction crew doing some reno work, as a result of a brutal physical assault. Certainly the police have said nothing publically and from what I can gather she used to have the occasional ad on CL but has not been active in the biz for some time.
While any murder is deplorable we have no proof this was connected in any way to the sex trade and should not speculate it was, until we know more.

whether this is related to the sex trade does not change the fact that winnipeg has become the most violent city in canada, it is a proven fact that violent sex related crimes are highest in areas of the most sexual repression, take North Dakota for example which does not even allow nude strip clubs has the highest rate of violent sex crimes per capita in the union Europe reconized this years ago and with there more liberal attitude toward sexual activites has a much lower rate of violent sex crimes than the US or the western provinces of Canada
She was a very sweet lady I knew a couple years ago as a friend, she and my exgirlfriend were close, but we lost contact. She was willing to bend over backwards to help others. She was a very beautiful lady both inside and out. Let's hope that the LE find out who did this and put them away. My condolences to her family and anyone who knew her. No person deserves to die or be assaulted by the hands of others. There was a rumour over a year ago when she was on cl that her boyfriend pimped her out or that she had gang ties, not sure if any of this was true or not.

It's tragic that a mother of four has been senselessly murdered. Normal people can't fathom what kind of a**hole would do this? Even when they catch this person, he will be pleaded down to 2nd degree murder and be out in 10 years. Our whole justice system needs to be revamped. A life sentence should be just that, not 25 years.
I met her once, and she was very sweet and innocent. I hope they find out who did this and put this loser behind bars. I don't understand how someone can do this to a mother of four. I hope there is some justice for her and her family . Poor girl. RIP Cara

Has anyone heard about when or if there was a service for Cara and if there was anything set up for her kid's. Has anyone heard anything new about her murder?
