I had a guy from Concise Construction come today to estimate my apartment (about 1000squareft)

About $3000 he said, including doors and the ceiling????

WTF? is that the best deal I could get????

He is going to bring color options on monday...

If anyone else can give me suggestions before then...

I would appreciate it!

I would like to stay with a professional painter as I want it done right....but theres gotta be a cheaper way???!

Construction costs are crazy nowadays. 1000 sq feet of living space, or wall space? Big difference :)

Heck for 3k, I'd paint for ya...lol.

Call athaire

Well i know we have one resident painter on this board "athaire" he should be able to give you a good idea about what you should be paying..
But i have seen where the cost of painting has gone up ..but they are doing a lot better job today also,, they chalk every thing,, and spray which does a better job. and it all depends on what the trim is , iis it fancy and lot of t or is it just plain and stark . Yes they do want to be payed enough to have a decent standard of living also
Of course if you want some one just to paint i can can do that. You buy the paint,, It may take three four day , so i will need a place to stay...wait a minute ..i may end up owing you money by the time i am finished

I think....umn.....?

In the past I have come over and stayed in the apt. and done the painting. I have usually done part trades in payment......I would think depending on how many colors and the state of the walls/ceilings one could maybe do it for 1800.00 and a couple hr session. Of course that would be dependant on being able to stay in the apt. as I don't have anywhere to stay in the big city........

Let me know what you think......

LOL umn no.

Go to Homedepot tell them what you want to do and they will tell you what you need. It's not hard, all you need is patience and a steady hand. Paint and supplies should run you around 5-6 hundred for your place.

Put your roller and paint tray in the fridge between coats, cover it with saran wrap. It will be ready to go when the first coat dries. Don't try to clean the roller when finished for other colors, it's easier just to use a new one. Use a pin lock extension pole (4'-8') with your roller, cost 27 bucks but it will save your back and make painting soooooo much easier.
