OUCH...I feel your pain..
that would be a downer espcecially if you're not expecting that kind of a bill..although the food sounds great there though.. Maybe if I save up my loonies I can go there one day as I did with Pablo's here in Victoria..had a great time there ..difference was I knew what the bill would be like.. Another kewl idea..which I think may have been brought up already in this thread re great places to eat is combining food and "Fun" in an appt with an sp..what I mean is..some sp's, I believe are incorporating a Gourmet Meal or Food prepared by them as part of an appt..granted this runs more than just your basic 1 or 2 hour appt but if you can manage it, even if only once in a while I think it would be a Great treat..
Ladies such as Gina and I do believe, Paige (will be soon) may offer this kind of service now..So you get the Great Meal..Great Company and the "Fun" all in one evening..anyway ..just a thought..
I guess for now it will have to be Candle light at McDonalds For Me for now...LOL...
