Gentlemen,

How important is a escort's website when you're deciding who to shag? Does the pizazz of a flash site give a lady the upper hand over her generic escort site counterpart or do you just get annoyed because it won't show up properly on your smartphone?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Definately HTML.

While I can see the appeal of Flash, you have to think of your market. Most of the time I decide to see someone, i'm not at home, meaning i'm going to be checking out the sites on my phone. Flash isnt smart phone friendly, and there are plenty of sites that are just not smart phone friendly, to the point i cant get a simple number to call for information.

While its good, it also defeats the purpose of the site, since i would not be able to get the information that i'm seeking and i would have to call and ask for information already posted on the site.

Apple relents on Flash-derived iPhone, iPad apps

Flash will soon be much less of an issue and already runs well with Android.

Apple has only let apps to be developed using a flash to iOS. They have no plans on letting flash run on the browser yet. And from last time i checked, flash doesnt run that well on Android yet - it will, but not just yet.

While i look forward to the day i can no longer worry about flash on my iPhone or Blackberry. We're not quite there yet.

Besides, with HTML5, most of the things that make a flash site appealing will be handled with HTML5.

Honestly I find some girls make there websites way too fancy with Flash and making the buttons, menu's and other features appear exotic which can make the site hard to navigate. In my opinion keep the site as simple as possible and user friendly, no fancy music or pop outs, just keep it simple.

Apple will relent on the Flash Browser issue. They have no choice. Flash 10.1 answers most of Apples concerns and runs pretty well on Android. Not without a few quirks, but not bad. Agreed HTML is probably the better way to go, but Flash is easier for most novices to put together a nice website.

Exactly. Reminds me of trying to hand in a high school report in a fancy cover to hide what's actually inside.

I use Firefox with a flashblock addon. I hate flash - I totally hogs my ram.

HTML is tried and true.

Not much that you can't do today fully cross-browser with HTML and javascript that you can do with Flash. And though HTML5 currently only really has good support in Chrome, Safari and IE9, soon you are going to see more and more super-rich web environments that don't depend on Flash.

As for your question, Kimmie, Flash is becoming increasingly deprecated as a development tool for web. It's a poor choice for search engine indexing, inflexible for maintenance, and has poor support for mobile devices and non-mouse-input devices like game consoles, tablet computers, etc. Love it as a platform for some things like games and educational/training tools.

As for which I prefer to see -- depends on how it's done and what I'm viewing it on.

I don't think flash will do any more that HTML (plus a good quality set of pics) can't..... except cost you (the escort) more to have the web-work done.

Good clean HTML site - make it mobile optimized for smartphones too so it's got a layout that is fast and easy on them. Spend the money you were going to spend on Flash and get high quality photos - and have LOTS of them. From all angles - all positions etc - you never know the one that will make the guy decide to call you for whatever reason.

Also test your site on different platforms too - BB, iPhone, Android, Safari, Firefox etc.

Start simple, make it clean and fast

I just want to point out to escorts...WIX is the Devil! I've had a TON of clients tell me that they immediately hit the back button as soon as they see WIX. It's slow, it's irritating, and occassionally the whole page will blow up (everything will suddenly just shift places and glitch).

Don't use WIX! We make a nice chunk of cash in 1 hour of work. We should be able to afford a GoDaddy URL, proper webhost, and even just a pre-made layout.
Wow thanks kimhoney, wix is the site I was thinking about using.

Thanks to all the responders, I didn't understand everything you said but HTML it is!

Also, I would suggest to SPs out there to leave the music off of a web site. I sort of dislike autoplay music on web sites at the best of times, but it also potentially prevents guys from checking out your site at work, or if they do, causes them some embarrassment when the ol' porn music start playing in cubicle land.

So another question for the gentlemen, do you care if an SP has her own domain name? I have a website on weebly and have been happy enough with it but always wonder about getting my own but not sure if it's worth the trouble.

It makes no difference to me as long as I can find it when I do a search for it. But, since you're paying to advertise on this site, you could make life a bit easier on the rest of us, if you put the actual clickable link in your profile and/or sig. :D

First, thanks for adding the clickable link in your sig as Man Mountain request.

And, I see you have done some cleanup work on your web site. It is much more concise now and gets your messages across. I'm sure you'll still get people wanting you to post a long list of your menu, but I'm fine with getting that info from you directly rather than on the web site.

As far as getting your own domain name goes, it depends how much time you want to put into the web site and how technically savvy you are. Or, if you know someone or are willing to pay someone to work up a more custom site for you.

I know a lot of folks who are pretty basic computer users and use WordPress to create some pretty nice sites. You can try it out at wordpress.com for free, and they would host a site that you could call sweetkimmie.wordpress.com. You can also use WordPress with your own domain name, e.g. www.sweetkimmie.com, but you would need to register it and pay for hosting. This is actually quite simple to set up and can be quite affordable - less than $10/month. There are many reputable companies offering affordable web hosting, but I probably can't mention them here.

Hope this helps :)
