Escort Agencies - yay or nay

Come April, I will have a friend who will be staying with me for a few months until they can get on their feet and afford their own place. Being that they are from a some-what oppressive Middle Eastern country it is imperative that they not know what I do for a living. I don't want to completely put them into culture shock considering where they come from a woman may be killed by her family if she looses her virginity before marriage. Hell they even have to hang the bloody sheets from the wedding night outside in the morning as proof!

Needless to say, I will no longer be able to work out of my home so I am considering joining an agency or MP, either that or renting a seperate apartment to work out of. So I am trying to carefully consider my options.

My main concerns with an agency are:
1) How much I would have to work - I wouldn't want to see more that 2 people in a day.
2) How much choice I would have in who I see and when.
3) My own personal safety - esp. doing outcalls
4) What the agency's take is $$$
5) That my reputation might be damaged if I hooked up with the wrong agency.
6) Pressure on me to do things I don't want.
7) Working with girls who don't share my views on drug & alcohol use, safety, discretion etc...

What are your thoughts on agencies vs. girls who are 100% independant.
Do you feel safer seeing a girl with an agency that has a good reputation versus an independant?
Or do you feel like agencies are a little too much like pimps?
Would you rather see an SP in her home or at a "studio"/business?

I dont have a problem with agencies and if i was a sp id probably work for agency also. You'll get all types of people working anywhere and sometimes these peop are addicted to drugs. I heard carmenfox pays something like 200-225/h and charges 320. It's probably where id work if im a sp. They also seem very professional and clean at carmen and they dont seem to force girls to do something they dont want to. They also have a policy of where the clients dont meet the sp till before the session. You wont get a bunch of peop showing up every 10 minutes looking through a lineup. People usually have a clue what who to see after viewing their site

If you are already independant, you will have your regulars that may not want to go to an agency, plus you wouldn't want them getting comfortable with an agency and end up loosing them. I would see if you can maybe share something with another sp. Try giving Scarlett a call at scarlettshouse.com, she would likely rent you a room on a per visit basis at a reasonalble rate, or she could give you advice. In any event she is awesome and if I were an sp, I would work with her anytime. good luck!

Find and rent a place of your own to do incall in. You can also tell your "friend from the oppressive country" that you work certain hours of the day doing a business that caters to females and he needs to be out of the house between those hours.

A few thoughts, and a client's opinion

Perhaps I'm being elitist, but I've researched both agencies and independents in Vancouver, and find the majority of the agencies to represent substandard ladies, have a poor sense of marketing (reflecting their professionalism), and, from what I've gained a sense of, have a much poorer reputation than independents.

I moved here from Toronto two years ago, and had much experience with both agencies and independents there. The agencies there included some first class ones (some of which I doubt I'll ever be able to afford! ), but I basically switched off about evenly between indies and agencies. Even then: indies over agencies.

Here in Vancouver, I have not encountered an agency I would deal with. The exception to that would be the Foxes Den, but as that's almost an in-call, I'd categorize it differently (although they do, of course, offer outcall as well).

I could address each of your questions as to my experiences, and what was related to me by agency ladies, but the overall result would be: independent over agency.

The only point I'd make is for point #3: personal safety with an agency means that there's a call-in both at the beginning and end of a session (perhaps by the agency if the session is running over-time). Independent ladies should have this service set up as well, even if it's an incall. I know I feel more comfortable when I see that everyone's security and safety is being looked after. I haven't seen it much with the ladies I've seen independently, but it's much appreciated.

My take, as a client: I'd rather see an independent lady at her studio/place of business, or at her residence if she's comfortable with that. I realize there are a multitude of issues with this (cleaning service, laundry, call-in service, etc...) of which I'm unaware, being a client, so I can only offer the view of how I would determine whom I would continue to relate with after an initial visit, aside from the way the encounter transpired.

As you only see one or two clients a day, perhaps a shared arrangement with another provider for a studio/place of business would be an option? Scheduling could be worked out and arranged (a shared Yahoo! or Google calendar?), and costs reduced by sharing. (Remember the write-offs!)

The other possibility to address is the lowering of income with an agency, related to the agency cut. I'm not privy to the split, but I have heard complaints during pillow-talk after sessions from a handful of agency ladies I've encountered - some coming from suprising, higher-class sources.

As I said, this is a view from the client side, augmented by my experience with the hobby.

What I have heard from the traveling ladies in Calgary is $$ for her and $ for the agency. That is a fairly big chunk.

To respond to Babylon, I prefer to see SPs that are independant. I do not know how much $$$ that the agency receives but I most definitely want my SP to receive whatever $$$ that I am donating to her and I am not interested in giving to the agency.

I have never gone to an agency or MP so I have no comment about drugs, pressure to do things you don't want, etc. Wouldn't doubt it for a second that you're going to meet all sorts of people though.

1. Varies greatly. If you are the sole occupant of the room & book on for a shift, the agency will obviously try to maximize profits. Factors include how long the app'ts are (mp's do shorter app'ts, agencies, longer), how much time the receptionist allows between clients, how busy the agency is & how well they market you but you're unlikely to be popular with an agency (for incall) if you're not willing to work much.

2. Not so much. Altho you may specify you don't want to see a certain person or a certain race/age/weight/height the receptionist may not get the memo &/or ask the q's.

3. All an agency does is take a phone# & address. Call-backs are up to you & the thoroughness of the receptionist & if you're working late, there may be no one in the office.

4. Varies. Count on a third.

5. Depends. If i was doing happy endings at Muffy's Discount Hair Salon, ya, i'd say that would be not so good for my image.

6. Generally no but depends on your constitution. Refer to #2.

7. The industry is rife with drugs & drama, period.

The big bonus working for an agency imo is the camaraderie. It can be lonely as an indie much like working a home based job & having no one to commiserate with over the water cooler & you can't really chit chat with friends & family about your work week. Which i guess is why we all luv perb so much and den mom/party planner Sandi Laine.

Business Case for Violet's Problem

Hi Violet,

This problem can best be addressed answering the following: "What's the best location, given my situation?"

Option 1: Use Existing Home (Find Way Around New House Guest)

Option 2: Find An Agency

Option 3: Share Another Place with Other SP(s)

Option 4: Find a Rentable Room for short periods (i.e. one on Craigslist $45/visit; hotel, etc.)

Option 5: Do Only Outcalls (a few "top-end" ladies do just outcalls)

Other 6?

Flush out all of these options on paper. Write down the pros and cons to each. Be sure to factor in all your issues: safety, convenience, cost, etc.

The answer will come to you from this process.

And with whatever option that you select, more details will need to be sorted out. But if you make the right Big Choice (location), the rest will be easier.

Finally, you should clearly understand your target customer (i.e. business crowd, late night pooners, etc.). Your target customer must "match" the location choice that you pick.

Not sure if you have many steady repeat clients yet. If so, they may be your best source of information on location selection. They inevitably can account for a big chunk of your business and if you can keep them happy and coming with this pending change, you should be fine. So, ask them about these options too.

seems fairly straight forward, if the friend staying over is temporary, and if the Sp really doesnt do more than two a day, outcall may seem like a good solution.

or have a heart-to-heart chat with the friend staying over - given the options of doing this or some menial job at minimum wage, what would be the sane choice? your friend would understand.
